it's been over a year since i last watched this video. it was February 14, 2023. it was the first time i had ever cried over my ex. she had left me before christmas. i found out after new years that she was sleeping with one of my close friends. no one had bothered to tell me. she was happier without me. and it's still a fact i knew was true, and it was violently apparent on that Valentine's Day. the loneliness hit me that night after my friends and i parted ways. no one would answer my call i was so desperately ringing. everyone else was on dates with their partners. with people who loved them and meant it. i broke down that drive home. it was like a flood of sobs. i came home and vomited my dinner. it's like i was purging everything from my body and mind. after my sob sesh on the ground floor of my house with my brother watching me -- the most he could do was listen and watch, which was more than enough -- I retreated to my bedroom. I just wanted to watch something, anything, on KZbin to ease the emotions i was feeling. this video popped up again because i had watched it before. i played this video on loop for hours that night. staring up at the ceiling. the tears still staining my cheeks. the vomit still freshly caked from my mouth. i was quiet that entire time. because I had realized that I, would in fact, still die for her. and it killed me inside. the glow of this video on my monitor danced in the streaks of tears on my face as my headphones engulfed me. i would still die for her, and she knew it, and she didn't. care. at. all. this video killed that part of me that was preventing me from healing. and i'm forever thankful for it. i don't know if anyone will ever read this, but it's possible to get over the person you'd "still die for". it's the hardest road i've ever pushed a boulder up, but i am not Sisyphus anymore. it doesn't matter how good of terms you left off, you CAN get over them. it's like i was killing myself, in a good and a bad way. but now i love myself, and the life i live alongside people i care about and care about me back.
