I was 5 years old in 1959. I remember one steam train crossing at high speed the Lachine canal over that swing bridge (the noise, the smoke) Also a steam loco leaving the oil refineries going west from the oil refineries (huffing, puffing) And lastly the steam loco scrap yards near the Jacques Cartier bridge. Because the late conversion to diesels I never saw freights with stream liner style diesels. Did see them on passenger till the 80s and commuter service till the 2000s

The voice of all the characters on the show: Frank Nastasi (January 7, 1923 - June 15, 2004) was an actor and comedian best known for his work with Soupy Sales on the show Lunch with Soupy. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Nastasi played Gramps the animal expert on Wixie Wonderland before he took over Clyde Adler's role on Lunch with Soupy, playing characters like White Fang, Black Tooth, Pookie, and Hippy. Nastasi also appeared with Sammy Davis Jr. in Golden Boy. Nastasi died of a brain tumor in 2004.

i heard Jesus saying heads up head wound head wound head wound on the warper of speedoes. merchant from a merchant nation. mouth boasting great things make America babylon great again. if trump were one of the anointed ones He would have sung fire and not got shot. the nick out of his ear is like scar in lion king, scar is a type of the antichrist. everyone knows God chooses a meek humble man not a proud puffed up one. what is everyone thinking? look to the eternal city times up dont look back at babylon

Thanks for posting. At the northeast tip of the Lansdowne Carhouse property, you can still see a patch of track and brick setts. I used to buy some of Ray's videos in the VHS days. And I met him at the "new" Spadina streetcar line where he gave me a couple of antique transfers. He could recognize that I was a streetcar geek.

The change from steam to diesel mirrored the change from heavy horses to diesel on the farm and in the logging camps. The oldtimers who lived through the changeover all said the same things, "sad to see, but it was inevitable". The few who kept their horses were mocked and ridiculed by both other farmers who had switched over entirely to tractors and the equipment manufacturers. I can imagine the railroad management of the time felt obliged to keep up with the times. The commentary about Belleville to Foxboro: crazy stuff as Foxboro is only a mile or two north of Belleville!

This also edits out some of the things conservative Christians would find offensive. The full length is better, and explains the effect on the world.
