Did you keep the gte non-vvti bottom end? I’m trying to swap a gte vvti head on my bottom end but not sure what I have to do to support the head swap.

question, why are the non-vvtis considered more desirable if the vvti has benefits such as earlier boost and such, a lot of builds i see go non vvti

At the end of the day, it's a personal and tuner choice. I ran both setups and would never go back to non-VVTi.

Pretty massive gains in tq and hp figures before the turbo is on full spool. 3psi slightly more boost on the vvti run but within margins. How did you find it to drive? Did you notice it much on the road before and after? Thanks for the content and back to back results

Hey mate. Thanks for your comment. It really changed the complete car on the road; serious spool at very early rpm. I can vouch for the VVTi. You really feel the turbo coming on boost 700-1000 rpm earlier.

A lot of tuners go the VVTi route .. in Europe or in the States. I don't know how you can refer to everyone : that is not correct ... I would never go back to non-VVTi.

Max boost levels won't affect spool mate. On the rollers, we ran mid boost ; 2 runs with VVTi on and off ; 700rpm gain in spool was confirmed.

Hi. I have a tikking noise in my v160 when the car is in neutral. When i press the clutch the noise goes away. I can also hear it when i drive in low speed in first and second gear. In higher speed i cant hear it. I think the noise is getting louder when the Oil is warm and i increase the throttle. The Oil is changed. What do you think might be the problem? Bearing maybe?

The video doesn't add up still, are you sure you have 900bhp? What dyno did it dyno 900bhp, I would say if you were on boost straight away it would have made a huge difference... Would you have won the race oh hell no but if you were on boost straight away and it was 900bhp vs 900bhp imo you should be beating that merc or you should be very close! Makes no sense! Supra has a better drag cd and weighs less? I'm just confused a little?!? Doesn't add up. Your car still moves out well and sounds nice none the less.

+dee_rz I didn't have time to get the rolling anti-lag installed. This would have helped me get off the line a bit better as I was only at 3300rpm in 2nd.It wouldn't have changed anything in the race against those GAD monsters though.

@audiS3 2997cc - 6pot in line This is an old video with 626 bhp @ 1.5 bar. In the meantime, it pushed out 767 bhp on thje same turbo, but with another plenum at 1.8 bar of boost.

@R3TrackStar Depends how well you do it. If all the necessary mods are done correctly, it should barley change the longevity. On the other hand, if you do the install improperly, or get boost happy without building the engine internals you will blow an apex seal for sure. Get an Esmeril kit, right out of the box it's very reliable. Greddy requires far to much modification to be worth the cost..

@94EglVisionTSI This was an old setup ... running 1.5 bar on the stage 1 ... approx 550 bhp. I'm running a BW 91-79 unit now ... 626bhp at 1.5 bar
