Pol's singing has become much stronger and more secure in the last two years and this lovely song with full support now shines. Bravo, Pol!

Pol and Sylvia! What a lovely piece of music you made together! Loved this when you did it with Rita, and now with her Fairy Godmother! Barcelona is surely the epicentre of a music revolution.

This girl is a FABULOUS bass player…… BUT……. her solos are awful!…… it takes away from their great sound. A bass solo on a stand up Bass is silly. It sounds like crap no matter who’s playing it. She’s unbelievable other than that. She drives this band!

Wikipedia says that Bridget "began playing the double bass in the 4th grade". Either she was oversized for her age or the double bass was a dwarf. I can't visualize this relationship any other way.

Maybe because he's the founder, they're all friends and they like him and believe he is a large part of their sound. I like him. If you watch more of their videos you'll see he contributes a lot to their popularity. And he has a 'dry,' personality which some people don't find appealing. But if you get, it's funny.

She is excellent but the best ever, well I'm not sure. I'm thinking Mingus, Ron Carter, Oscar Petiford, Marc Johnson, Ray Brown just to name a few. I do love her work for sure.
@mattguest63265 жыл бұрын
She is DAMMIT good, but there’s this cat named Edgar Meyer who might well have something to say about her taking the title for Best Bass Player. At any rate, the research is fun. 🙂
@HQBergeron3 жыл бұрын
I try to avoid titles like best when applied to musicians. Favorite might be more appropriate. There are so many good musicians, each in their own way and with their own talents. It’s like trying to pick the best artist (painter). Can’t be done, and only an opinion. And even when you pick your favorite, if you ask them who is their favorite, I guaranty they aren’t going to pick themself. Then where are you. Bridget is very, very good for certain, and I enjoy her playing. Rachael is astounding, especially when I hear her singing very old songs. Her interpretation is exceptional. The two guys? Meh. But they work well in this group, which I like a lot, so that counts for something.

@@MrPhillyguy Yeah, agree -- choosing the 'best ever' is every bit as delicate and treacherous as picking a favorite child! But while we're at it, maybe don't leave out James Jamerson, Stanley Clark, Louis Johnson, Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Will Lee, Nathan East, Victor Wooten, the Dirty Loops guy, the guy with The Crusaders 40 years ago, the current super-monster on SNL, and probably dozens upon dozens more that I can't think of at the moment . . (plus a few favorites of my own that might be too parochial to make the list!).
