I wonder what the speed would be with the original fins that came on the the original mirage adventure 16.

I just capsized YESTERDAY in 50 degree water!! This technique is IMPOSSIBLE when wearing insulation, bibs, sherpa wool shirt, and boots. The human middle finger isn't strong enough to grasp the scupper hole and pull all that wet insulation up to reach the other side. My only savior was that I was close to shore, and God himself.

So faster more like a long skinny kayak is faster than a short fat one? More bang for your buck from each stroke.

You can stand in them but the compass really is not designed for it. The low (poorly designed) seat and narrow deck make it far to much hassle. If you want comfortable standing you're probably gonna want a PA. And as with anything Hobie expect them to nickel and dime you with insanely overpriced parts and kits.

One important note/comment regarding the bearings. You've opened up the patient. For a nickel's worth of grease, clean, inspect and regrease your bearings. It's just foolish not to take this one preventive step.

Nice video on installation on inflatable. However, this is a more recent installation showing a better method: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKexg4yhZsyVmNU Also, I noticed that you installed the pan head mounting screws backwards, i.e., the nut should be on ghe bottom. not the top as shown. Also, I suggest using blue masking tape and cheap soldering brush for a neater install. Neverthelass, nice instructional video.

Hi, thanks for the videos. Have you had any further thoughts on installing an anchor trolly? I'm thinking about getting a Hobie iTrek 11 but would feel better if I could fit some sort of anchor trolley on it.

A bit faster, but Iike them more because I think they give me more power to push through rough water than because of the extra speed. Atleast that is my personal perception.

Hubby has the Turbo ones. I gave them a try. For me anyway, they took more effort to pedal. So I’m undecided: peddle more/faster or push harder.

I have a Hobie Rev13, not at all impressed with its tracking and maneuverability. I was using it without the drive system, paddle only. Id get in the current paddling with it, and not a strong current either, and the kayak would start to spin 180 and no matter how hard i teied to correct, it would not respond and Id end up going backwards. I have kayaked for 7 yrs now and never had any of the non-hobie kayaks I rented, not the respond when correction was needed.

Too bad that there is no proper color option on the i11 now anymore. This yellow blue is simply terrible. Would buy one immediately if there would be a color option that is not so surf guy looking but more natural like the older one. Any other color option. But bright yellow and blue is simply terribly annoying for a fishing kayak!

Just switched from a 2014 TI to the 2022 TI with the Vantage seats. The biggest surprise to me was I miss the old style seat when under sail. The boat heals to leeward so the Vantage seat of course tips downwind, side to side. This causes you to have to lean upwind, to the left or right, and your spine is not straight, this is okay for a short time but if you sail very long it gets tiresome. With the old style I could move to the leeward side, change the angle of the seat, and straighten my back. Other than that the new seat is much more comfortable. It'd be nice if you could raise just one side of the seat. Or maybe have a left to right wedge to sit on.

How do I adjust the recline lever. When I try to move the seat forward and then pull the lever out the tension on my seat straps doesn’t increase as it did on your video to limit recline. Thanks so much for your help.

What is the ideal kayak for river fishing? I have a hard time getting out of the side drift while fishing the trees in a pilot. I also am curious if I am nuts considering trying for walleyes after ice out.
