First time I heard this on the radio in 1977 driving down the Pacific Coast highway in my 280Z. Had to pull over. Was a fan of his music long before but this one...wow!

Te escucho y recuerdo una niñez solitaria y llena de vicisitudes .. hoy 59 años sobreviviente a lo largo de la vida y Feliz disfrutando de todo lo que existe a mi alrededor 🎶💽

Carol's magnificent voice is virtually silent. What the fuck gives? Some 1970's misogyny?
@jamestaylor25 минут бұрын
This was before Carole was performing on her own. At this point, she was James's piano player. In fact, it was James who persuaded her to start performing on her own, encouraging her to sing her songs during his sets.

Such a soulful tenor. Music of this quality helps us define, understand, and love life.

King said she wrote music and words in the time ot takes to perform the song. Taylor hwaed it at the Troubadoe and said he wanted to record it,and King generosity gave him his only #1 single.

This takes me back to Summer, 1985, an evening ferry ride to Staten Island. There was a guy singing this and it was my 1st trip to the U.S.A. one of several, staying with wonderful friends. I knew I would have this beautiful memory all my days, one of the happiest times of my life.

Its funny how things remain in ones memory i was 21 when youve got a friend was playing all over the air waves and was working in a meat canning factory we started at 6 in a morning it was an old factory and cold we had an old brazier which we continually topped up with anything that would burn we had an old radio and this song came on i sang it to my work mates and got.a round of applause had a James Taylor voice and still do and i guess i have got old with James along the way the hair has gone but the memories live on

Father and son making music together, so beautiful and heartwarming. The music reveals their deep connection, which is palpable. So touching how much the son loves the father by publicly hugging him.

Saw Jimmy with Lee Ritenour debuting his Synthaxe in the UK (at the Royal Festival Hall). Ironically, JJ did loads with Holdsworth on his Synthaxe also in the States. Also saw him at the Royal Northern College of Music in the UK with Gary Husband and Allan. JJ is always killing it with his sinewy harmonic lines. Awesome player.

And Donald Trump is now doing the teaching; this song is just as meaningful as it was when it was written--if not more so.
