11:25 If your camera wasn't so high up, the sun would disappear., each centimeter your camera is above the rail would be equivalent of a meter of height, when the distances viewed are in kilometers divided by 10 for each linear meter. You can find videos on my channel where entire vehicles are disappearing over a very short distance. In my video the center of the camera lens is 2 cm above the rail and the linear distance is 500 meters, that's the equivalent of a 2 meter camera height over the linear distance of 50,000 meters.

These are the best suggestions to help our Monarchs on the Internet! It has more meaningful values when it comes from real people who don't use a lab or try to sell a book. We also provide a Habitat for the Monarchs that makes them visit our garden by the hundreds every Summer with a mix of native and non-native plants. Our KZbin channel has more proof: www.youtube.com/@leosilvestri5440/videos

That was so nice to watch. No sarcasm, no talking down...just a couple great visual experiments and a solid conclusion disproving at least one part of the flat earth theory. Thank you for the time you put into this...can't wait to watch the other videos in the series!

NotJeff here. I am so glad to have found your videos, and so happy that you are continuing to put them out. After almost 10 years of having Narrow Leafed milkweed volunteer sprout in our yard, we had at least 6 monarchs grow up successfully in late October, the first time breeding here. What a happy shock to find a chrysalis, then the caterpillars .The last one eclosed on 11/3. Thanks to your videos we were able to monitor and assist them so late in the year. We are in the SF Bay Area, and for your California viewers, the principal garden natives still blooming are: Epilobum also known as California Fuchsia, Island Verbena. These are good pollinator plants, will bloom until it gets very cold, and look good in your garden. Non-natives blooming in fall are the ornamental Salvias, Lantanas and loquat trees, and of course the coneflowers.. Instead of AI, I suggest contacting your nearest Master Gardener group, people trained by the US Cooperative extension and associated with universities. These folks know a lot about gardening and usually a lot about how gardening fits into the local habitat. Master Gardeners are trained in plants, then pick up a lot of knowledge about the birds, insects and other critters that are attracted to gardens. Anyone willing to learn, then spend time teaching back to the community is welcome to become a Master Gardener.

notJeff here. We have volunteer narrow leaf milkweed, and the yellow aphids cluster on the new stems only. We leave them alone, and our milkweed becomes a ladybug factory. After about 10 years, the milkweed this October produced at least 7 adult monarchs! This was as the milkweed was slowing down, and there were far fewer aphids. It's November now, and the remaining stems still have a few aphids. This species is annual in our yard, and I'm finally pulling it.

NotJeff here. I love that you have Pugs! We had our guy in the 70's, when they were rare outside the show community. Now so many people have discovered them! They are a lot smarter and more energetic than folks expect, and they are a constant delight. I hope Ruby enjoyed her first summer!

4th option repair the wing? If you are sure the monarch isn't diseased (which can cause some of the wing curling/crumpling where the wing doesn't expand correctly), you can repair the wing. Saving wings from euthanized butterflies, or making one from paper actually works.. There's a few videos on it. You need some tiny scissors, tweezers and appropriate glue. But I've done it successfully a few times.

How do flat earth believers explain Mercury being very hot and Neptune being very cold, would not their sunset theory cause similar extremes to their view of Earth in just a 24hr cycle.

2:47 - _Whether this charge is negative or positive…_ The Earth has a negative charge relative to the upper atmosphere. The electric field in the atmosphere is variable but is usually around 100 to 300 volts per meter, so it is not noticeable but nor is it difficult to detect, as Benjamin Franklin demonstrated.

Dang, from the thumbnail i was hoping that you would address the suns reflection. Comparing what a light reflection off of a curved or spherical surface looks like compared to a flat surface. No flat earth believer is going to accept your answer because of the waves, not mountains or buildings. Take the same principles from the meme and apply that argument to waves. That's why it says "never". I suggest inviting flat earth dave for an interview. He might try and interrupt, so you might need some format to keep things productive.

I've seen a good bit of flat earth stuff and at the beginning you gets their beliefs wrong. They don't believe it's a disk or coin, but more like an infinite topographical plane.

I’m on the fence with all of this. One question that keeps coming up is the earth spinning at such an extremely fast rate. Wouldn’t clouds be flying? Wouldn’t it be super windy all the time? I also watched a flaw being demonstrated with the moon rotating. The model showed how the moon must speed up and slow down as it goes in and out of the path the earth takes as it rotates around. Can you explain? I’m honestly not trying to cause trouble. Just looking for evidence for both points of view. I’m a teacher ❤️

I’ve had my ball python for almost a year I’ve been watching the series because she recently went to the vet and figured out that she is not a he. The method I use for feeding are as follows keep in mind. She is on frozen food. 1 I have taught her to hunt by using my heat signature along the outside of the tank and guiding her to the food Sometimes she is not interested in hunting, but instead doesn’t want to let go of me when I’m feeding her 2 she will have her tail wrapped around my wrist while she eats My girl just loves her mama. I understand the risk behind this, but I have never been bit feeding her the route of option two. I don’t blame her for biting me when feeding her the way of option one it’s only happened on four occasions over the time of year But she gets no blame because a living thing is always going to produce more heat than something frozen. She is a sweetheart, who I can physically handle hold and let explore even when it’s feeding day She has come to learn that when there’s something very cold in front of her cage, a.k.a. frozen feast in a bag she understands food is around the corner. I will actually let her hang out on my neck while she watches me thaw out her food and then depending on her mood and how close she decides to get to the mouse while thawing it I first see if she wants option too with feeding and if she’s not interested, I do option one. Option two when she’s holding onto me she eats on the mini fridge next to her cage. Option two I always put thaw food on top of her hide same place every time so she knows where to look. The reason I prefer method 2 is because she is scared of the feeding tongues, which makes it slightly more difficult to feed her inside her tank. She has learned the difference between human hand and furry food. She’ll put her tongue on me realize it’s not fuzzy so that’s not her meal. This is why I have been bit four times So feeding tongues recommended my ball python just happens to be too shy to use them more fear of the tongues than human touch She also knows when it’s feeding day because I will wake her up in the middle of the day. Make sure she’s a little bit active and awake and then feed her. So she has come to learn if I interrupt her sleep cycle she’s getting a meal took her to the vet the other day the vet said that she is healthy and he was impressed with how not head shy she was. Reptiles get used to routine currently my girl is 10 days between meals on average. Just a little odd sweet relationship I’d like to share.

Hi Rich! I discovered your videos a month ago, where you discuss how to raise Monarch caterpillars and then how to release the butterflies. You are a fantastic teacher and I've learned so much. I wish I had seen your videos sooner. I'm in SoCal and we get sooooo many Monarchs around here. I purchased two Milkweed plants from my local nursery back in June, foolishly thinking that it would be sufficient. It was not! This is my first time raising and releasing Monarchs, so I had no idea what I was doing. The ravenous caterpillars decimated my two plants and I ended up having to steal some from my neighbors! Luckily, people around here enjoy butterflies and I've found tons of Milkweed. I have 3 more chrysalides waiting to emerge, a mature caterpillar and a baby one that I discovered outside yesterday. Can't believe they're still hatching! Thank you so much for your help and enthusiasm. Can't wait to share this beautiful experience with my baby girl once she gets a bit older : )

You are awesome! Thank you. I know this is hard topic and appreciate you sharing the options with me. None of them sound good but it is nature and we have to decide what we are most comfortable with. You handled this topic very compassionately!

@MrLundScienceАй бұрын
I have no problem defending myself on this. I made the video so that I, and others, can show the reaction without exposing students, themselves, or anyone else to carcinogens. I take zero responsibility should someone misuse chemicals, as that is 100% their responsibility to handle safely. I also show videos with pencils and don't warn viewers to not stick them in theirs eyes, and videos with magnets without "don't eat them" warnings. The real world doesn't come with safety pads, and every video doesn't warn of every possible danger. I do not need to assume people are tuning in to recreate my reactions *in place of* reading proper safety hazards. Care to refute? Have a clear argument ready.

Thank you so much for your videos! This is my first year, raising monarchs, and it is definitely been a learning experience. Your information has been a godsend. I currently have one with wings that are fine but her legs are very weak. I can’t tell if one was possibly damaged when she fell from the chrysalis? Currently, I am feeding her the nectar recipe that you have so generously shared and it helps. However, I think that a hard decision will be made tomorrow.,,

Thank you! I have a chrisalys that has fallen and have been concerned that it might not be able to eclose. It's in a butterfly cage lined with a towel. I'm going to assume the butterfly will be able to climb to a suitable place to inflate its wings.

Well technically we could say that there are laws of perspective since we do have formulas to calculate the angular resolution, we do see consistently that parallel lines moving away from the observer appear to converge. You could call that a scientific observation and they are “laws of perspective” because just like the laws of thermodynamics they never fail to be true. But yeah, there is no official científicos terminology or definition for this.
