Cancelling my replies is not the best way to have a discussion. I am sure that "coconutgroveballet" could be the maximum expert of carattere dances in Europe, but please check Puskhin ball where the tradition is kept as a bible and you will see the accent is on one. All the others major school are reinterpretating American Ballet included kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWTIYoJ-ZqejoKMsi=N_WufNC-KFtxe2NM Thank you for your attention

Why are the subtitles/explanations flashed up so fast they are impossible to read. What is the point of that? Please remake the video.

It's the Mazurka from Act of Coppélia by Delibes. The music for the actual Polonaise demo is from Act 3 of Sleeping Beauty by Tchaikovsky.

Hi! I am a ballet/dance teacher in Peru, trained here and Canada, danced at ALBERTA BALLET, BALLET JORGEN, LES GRANDS BALLETS CANADIENS AND AT THE NATIONAL BALLET OF CANADA...and would like to know about the arabesques in the Cecchetti method because I heard online a teacher mentioning that the third arabesque (for example) doesn’t matter if it is with in a croisé line or efface Line. So does that mean it would be the same as the fifth arabesque but without de Demi plié...Is that correct?
@cgbcarla
@cgbcarla 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Bruno, yes, the Cecchetti method is not based on which way the dancer is facing. In other words, the dancer could be facing upstage or downstage or to a corner and would still be in 3rd arabesque. Yes 5th arabesque without the demi-plie would be 3rd arabesque. Third arabesque is both arms in the same direction on a straight standing leg.

Ballet is a very hard-working dance career but taking a class is fun and a lot of work on its own. Just about to finish Beginning Ballet at a College and would continue after receiving my Bachelors to learn more techniques.

Question about the fingers in Third Arabesque: Why are the fingers rising? I noticed the left hand of the dancer at 0:56 is pointing upwards and not straight like the right hand. Sorry, I hope it is all right to ask.

Her arm is slightly behind her in a la seconde - not completely behind her. Again, we do not follow the Cecchetti manual or method. Most of our teachers are actually certified through American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum.
