Incredible talent. Lyrics: We were swollen lanterns of prey Lighting the way for hunger to feast Our firm young skin free to befoul Caressing intrusion of the beast Bodies like toys bargain for favours The gift of sacrifice Wiping my body never again clean Guilt bleeds from taste of my sin In my shame are memories of passion The one thing of pleasure within Bodies like toys bargain for favours The gift of sacrifice No flowers to spare, she gave herself them And when she returned she was, she was Still Still Bodies like toys bargain for favours The gift of sacrifice

The UK charts in the 1980's were amazingly diverse. Not sure about the rest of the world, but for British bands like the Banshees, the 80's were the best decade. So many influences, never bettered. ❤ From Wales 😊😊☮️

Interesting to hear this version, but the original with just guitar, on the 'Join Hands' album is far more impactful for me.

Good..But not as good as the Join Hands version..That is mind blowing...Souless Saints ..Saw them many times back around 1978-79-80-81 .They were magnificent, imperious..At that time they were totally original in musical style .. O:-)

Placebo effect? Sounds like she was forecasting modernity. Females love it. Modern women love the fantasy of modern living. Siouxsie knew her sex.

hell yeah.. her and Robert Smith for me .. and he played in her band for a while when he was really down. I saw Siouxsie live in Bristol and the sound was amazing. The only band I've seen that was 10 times better live than in the studio.
