She was inspired by 15 years old Claudette Colvin who had done the same 9 months earlier.

Thanks to Mrs. Rosa Parks and Claudette Colvin for standing up for their rights. Yes Claudette was refuse to get up from her seat for a white woman and was arrested, her parents went to the NAACP and she was bailed out of jail but by her being so young her parents didn't want any trouble with the kkk, so instead they just let it go. Rosa Parks by than had became a member of the NAACP And at the time E.D.NIXON was the President and Rosa Parks was his Secretary And that's how she made History. But if Claudette parents had gone farther and build a case for what had happen to their daughter on that bus ride I think it would have been different. But they were afraid of a cross being burn on their lawn, their House being burned and most of all their lives being taken. Again thank I thank them both for being so brave.

It's amazing how one simple act rocketed a previously unknown person to become a household name, in America. Racism is and was the biggest waste of time and energy...Without it, everything was and is better, much, much better.

To be fair the simple act that started all this was primarily when Claudette Colvin refused to get up for a white woman, months earlier.
