In 1884 Rinaldo Piaggio started his company building railroad cars. By WWI they were building military boats and aircraft. They built fighter planes in WWII. He enclosed the engine for much the same reason. Also, he hated all the exposed, uncivilized parts of most motorcycles. In fact the front wheel and steering were aircraft tail wheel parts. When Mr Piaggio saw the slim waist and aerodynamic looking tail he declared it looked like a wasp. Vespa is wasp in Italian. Today Piaggio owns Piaggio, Vespa, Moto Guzzi, Aprilia and Derbi. They also started building aircraft again but have since split that company off. So no, Vespa isn’t the parent company of Piaggio.

It is a little screwed up, but I think maybe a lot of these overweight bundles may be slipping through so that's why they may not be too concerned. I have got the same email response from customer service. BTW: The clerk at the Post Office told me they are told to just take overweight packages and they will somehow collect from Mercari or whomever issued the label. I am still wary with bundles on Mercari though. Poshmark is also bad with bundles over 5 pounds (you have to cancel the label they send you and get a new label and you pay the extra amount).

They need to just let us edit the dimensions after the sale like ebay does , its not reasonable to pack each item and then weigh it before listing bc i might sell it on another platform and it might be bundled and i dont want to waste the packaging materials Nah bro it dont let you edit anything with free shipping , there is no edit button on the dimensions, i just started on mercari and regardless of who pays shipping you cannot edit it after the sale.
