One is the wifi router, the one with the green optical connector is used as a modem (basically a pass through point making the optical signal from the outside usable by your ethernet connection) to connect to the router.

@@alimostofa967 The smaller box is a modem that takes the fibre optical signal and converts it to ethernet, you then connect the router to the ethernet port of the modem then that provides the WiFi and othe networking capabilities.

Worst broadband EVER to the password & username you can't change it's the worst router from Shell,a pile of crap why I rang GRAIN they have just did what Virgin-Media did years ago with new Cable. They even give you a fiver per month for 3-months which is really good cable in my home as the guy upstairs keeps switching off my stick to messing with this Shitter of a so called router ( I would not even run my x-box on it , it's not got enough gumption ) if you want a really bad time then get SHELL CRAP ROUTER .... Totally Crap 💩 And Reeks A Security Flaws A Plenty . I hate this pile of rubbish not a Hub just a cheap rubbish router 100%

I am on You fibre 150 Mbs. It was really inconsistent. I was getting 11, 14 30's then 300 and one day 425?? Wi-fi range was dismal because they want to up-sell you their mesh for £7 a month

You cant as they seem to have stopped trading. Say that Lifetime Updates can be made from website but there is no access for updating on the website. There is a chat available but no one responds

Hi. I heard the Youfibre only had one port on the back, yours has 4. Is this the one you get with youfibre?? And could you tell me if you get internet coverage all over your house, upstairs and downstairs as iv heard you’ve got get their youmash if you want good coverage all over the house. Is this true?? I received this router from YouFiber as part of their internet service. It has 3 LAN ports and 1 WAN port. It claims to provide wireless signal for the entire upstairs area, but I experienced some weak spots. They recommended that I switch to a mesh system for optimal coverage. However, I already own my own mesh routers that I prefer to use.

Littereally the worse WiFi I had.. On phone to them over a hour nothing they can do. Plugged my old box in which is a dinnerent brand I was with b4.. absolutely brilliant now

The main drawback of Shell broadband is their customer service. It takes a long time to reach them and they often fail to resolve the issues. On the other hand, I have not experienced any downtime or speed issues with their service.

Shell Energy's new wi-fi 6 router is so locked down that you can't even change the default admin password. Talk about putting the needs of the ISP above the security of the user.

I can't get rid of this issue & when you speak to them it's all Asians,I have this very router and when I pull up the settings on a windows -10 page to try change it to my own name + p/word you can't ( when saved it just pops back up ADMIN & the password numbers + letters) . Open reach that own this rubbish router are a joke why I'm going back to Cable again. Grain a company that dug up all the streets like Virgin did 20+ years ago are charging a fiver for what package you decide you need for 3-Months , then around £30 per month but cable is more reliable having Virgin for 20 years in my old property it just works perfectly with no problem's why this GRAIN is worth a dash as I cannot believe you cannot even use WPS-3 only 2 ??? The only thing available is 1-6-11 the 3 Channels for a better strength as this open reach crap is going to the bin . ONWARDS & UPWARDS 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
