Technically the public shoulder of a public road is public property, not private or home owner property, and usually refer to the as public right of way for pedestrian and public land to place public utilities like electricity lines , telephone cables , water ,gas lines and most important public sidewalk for citizens ! For the local government to think that the home owner must maintain public infrastructure outside their property line is is very unfair !

Dana is100% correct about main street. I have talked to 100s of people in our town...we want to keep our history. Please let me know when and where to have people sign and we can put our names and physical addresses on the form......the brick is not a problem...the street potholes are.

Im from here, I moved to California and Texas for a few years...when people heard where i was from they all said, the town with the awesome brick main street. I agree. Our City is known for our brick main street. I love it. It is one of the few things that makes our City unique. I'm not sure how you can reallocate funds but the huge pothole everywhere in our streets truly are rough and tear up the front ends of our vehicles...those are the streets that need help. Residents & other people who visit Seminole everywhere notice the potholes as well. Please keep our brick main street...

We really need those on the council to speak into the microphone. We can hear some and not others because their mic is too far away. Thank you. Please remember those of us watching remotely.

Improving student performance starts with teachers....teaching method...style...care...how do you measure teachers....hopefully the same way college does. Test students at beginning of the year...and same test random during the year to see what they have learned...percentage and evaluate teacher student understanding.

Which came first the highest poverty rate in the country or the poor education system? Funny story about the education system here. I hear it’s so bad in Seminole that ole Steve Saxon committed fraud by saying he is divorced to get a discount on a private school in a different district. Education is not even really relevant anymore due to AI and automation. These kids need skill sets like how to grow food, run electricity, or mine for Bitcoin.

Dear Mr. Steve Saxon, I watched the latest city council meeting last night. Once again, you're whining and complaining about citizens having negative feedback on social media, and asking the council to shut down ALL comments and feedback on said social media. So let's call attention to what your theatrics were REALLY about, shall we? For MONTHS citizens have been approaching city officials about maintenance desperately needed around our town. For MONTHS citizens (and business owners alike) have been BEGGING city hall for help in enforcing building codes, reducing crime in the area, and to begin holding property owners accountable for the condition of those properties. For months we've seen and received LITTLE TO NO CHANGE. Oh, we got a few lights replaced, and there was supposed to be cameras installed. But yet still, our codes (AKA LAWS) are not being enforced on specific property owners. Elderly/disabled citizens are harassed about their grass being too high at their homes, with tickets and fines. Events are being blocked from your fancy golf courses and city properties, because the people attending them don't abuse the same crutches as you. ( Your Alcohol.) But yet, our downtown buildings lie in ruin. You allow property owners to continue to rent out commercial (and residential) properties that you KNOW are not safe, with zero consequence. AND THEN, you stand up at city council and accuse those very tenant businesses of persecuting property owners, as more rock, dust, and mouse droppings fall and accumulate in these properties. Additionally, and what really infuriates me, is how little you've done yourself for our town. Consistently, you tell citizens/businesses if we want improvements, we'll have to raise the money to do them ourselves. And most of the time, within reason, we do! There have been cameras donated. Landscaping donated. Money donated. And yet still, many contributions were destroyed, and you haven't uttered a single word in regards. None. This has been happening for DECADES! Multiple entities and groups have worked tirelessly towards improving downtown. Multiple entities have donated money, expensive tools/gear, etc. But when the citizens/businesses ask for help from the city, crickets. Insults. Condesencion. You stood up at July's council meeting, and accused me of "persecuting property owners" for simply trying to get our codes enforced. At this most precious meeting, the CPR app was again mentioned. WHY would citizens use this app, when doing so (as I did) gets them insulted and accused of persecution, publicly at a city council? Why would we use something that will only bring us retaliation from YOU, Mr. Saxon? So this is how much respect you have for your citizens, Mr. Saxon? You care not for our safety when patronizing downtown businesses? You care not if buildings are hazardous? You care not if specific property owners are upheld to the LAW, because you're their buddy? This, Mr. Saxon is corruption, it is tyranny, AND it is dereliction of duty! And since, you no longer want to hear feedback from your citizens on social media, I'll be sure to e-mail this to all city leaders, and perhaps even publish it in the newspaper! Perhaps if you had listened to these citizens and business owners for the MONTHS they've been attempting to work with you, it wouldn't have come to these levels. Perhaps if you weren't walking around forcing your tyrannical, know-it-all, condescension on citizens and business owners, we wouldn't be so mad! Perhaps if you'd just GIVE A DAMN about the very citizens that pay your RIDICULOUS wages, you wouldn't be reading this message today. More open records requests are coming! You owe ME, my business, and a whole lot of others some SERIOUS PUBLIC APOLOGIES!

Y’all really gotta move on past this whole “what about the children” bit when it comes to medical marijuana. If this was Democrats talking about gun control then your narrative would be “oh self responsibility” and well “teach your kids gun safety”. Blah blah blah Here’s the facts: marijuana has never killed 1 person ever in the history of man kind. All cannabis use is medicinal. Maybe you should teach your children society was lied to for 100 years about a harmless plant. Oh and by the way the whole narrative against marijuana and the drug war is rooted DEEP in racism. #plantmedicine #warondrugs #drugsstillwinning #timetospeakrhetruth #cannabisismedicine #overgrowthegovernment

Imagine, psychologically, how it effects a business owner to lose her DREAM, and life's work - because the city refuses to enforce codes on the owner of most of the commercial properties downtown? Imagine what it's like to lose years and years and years of progress, work, and thousands of dollars, because the city has given a free pass to a slumlord.

So what happens when money comes out of the tax payers pockets because you won't enforce the building codes?? Since Mr. Carter, you're so worried about social media policies being enforced. Because I can name several citizens and businesses that have paid out of pocket due to the City of Seminole's lack of enforcement.

So, enforcing codes wasn't a legitimate enough complaint, and it allowed Saxon to stand up at July's council and accuse me of persecuting property owners???? Enforcing our LAWS is not persecution!!!

You all need to get out of this going through the motions mind set that is very evident. Where is the talk of how do we grow? How, do we attract more people and tourism here? Cannabis is now about 10% of the tax base here why are you all leveraging this? It’s all excuses, and nobody wants to roll up their sleeves and work but Dana.

This has been very interesting to me, because I worked in the Potable Water Treatment Plant and in the Wastewater Treatment Plant for the City of Medicine Lodge Kansas, for 18 years. I lived in Seminole Oklahoma for almost 20 years and I new were the Wastewater Treatment Plant was, but I never did know where the Potable Water Treatment Plant was at all and I had looked around out of curiosity because it was what I did for so many years. State Certified in Kansas, Class 4 in Potable Water Treatment and Class 4 in Wastewater Treatment Plant. Where about is the Potable Water Treatment Plant at, and is Seminole Oklahoma, underground 🤔 water wells or is it surface water treatment plant 🤔 ??

[ I'm a citizen of Seminole, Oklahoma; I'm requesting the following information: Whats the name(s) of who is in control charge or administrator of this KZbin account? Whats the name(s) of who is in control, charge or administrator of the camera and audio operations within the City Council Chamber/Meeting? What is the contact information , including email and mailing address, for the above referred to people?] Thank you in advance for your cooperation and generous help. I sincerely appreciate your willingness to help provide the information to help fix the issues ive raised over the past months. For the most part the sound issue has not been fixed, one or two Officers have tried to speak into the microphone but the base sound level is EXTREMELY LOW. The Councilmen and City Officers are not using proper etiquette while speaking into the microphone, preventing those of us watching the video from being fully informed as to what is being discussed during the meeting, becoming a serious roadblock to the peoples ability to become and stay informed on government affairs that which we elect you to carry out. This is borderline negligence; Such as: The paper handed out regarding the 'roundabout' was not displayed on the over head projector for us, the viewers to follow along. These problems need to be fixed if you (?) want an easily accessible government and, fully involved citizenry. I hear a lot about a lack of citizens running for office in the city of Seminole. Why would they if those of you within the local government make it impossible to follow whats going on in a short 40 minute meeting. If those who happen to watch this video could actually hear the conversations and understand what is being discussed, more people would be encouraged to get involved. This government is making that task of becoming informed very difficult for some reason. This is unacceptable. Once again, thank you for your continued help in resolving this most important issue that is impacting the great citizens of the city of Seminole. ~James.

Hi James. We are working on the sound. You are more than welcome to contact me at City Hall - Sharon Emmitt, Director, Community Development. PO Box 1218, Seminole, OK 74818-1218 or [email protected]. As always, we encourage the public to attend the meetings when possible and get involved with City government. The videos were not meant to take the place of attendance, but add another layer of accountability.

I have the volume turned all the way up and still have trouble hearing. This is an ongoing issue. Is been this way for several months or longer. Please have the issue fixed before the next City Council meeting in January. Also, remind members, notably Steve Saxon, the City Manager, to speak into the microphone when addressing the people flanking him, and to speak into the microphone, during the entire meeting, that would help, ive noticed multiple members neglecting to speak directly into the microphone.

Hi James. Thank you for your comments. We listened to the meeting on several computers before we could identify an issue. The Council chambers has new equipment, and on one computer the sound level is good but on another it is not. We will adjust the levels and make sure they know to speak into the microphones. Please let us know next month if the sound levels are better.
