This movie is difficult to follow. The German soldiers' dialogue is subtitled w/very TINY lettering; if you blink, you miss it!! You have to keep backing up & repeating to catch what they're saying, so it makes this already SLOOOW movie drag on even more!! NO REAL ACTION!! Such EXTREMELY MINIMAL war activity/scenery, this could have been filmed in the suburbs of NYC!! The plot (if you can call it that) seems consumed w/sitting around drinking, scrounging for &/or smoking cigarettes, laughing at photos of whores & a guy w/crabs scratching himself!! The entire movie seems POINTLESS!! An insult to Veterans who served!! A MISSED OPPORTUNITY; WASTED TIME!! I'm sorry I stayed for the whole movie!! I foolishly hoped it would get better!!

@@Theakker3B - ACTUALLY, WAR IS NOT LIKE THIS!! War is dirty, messy, gut-wrenching, dangerous, lonely & filled w/conflict & hardships. I don't think ANYONE would describe war as FUN, but this movie has almost NO interaction between opposing armies & has a TOTAL of MAYBE 20-25 individuals in the movie - NOT just SPEAKING roles, but TOTAL!! When have you EVER seen a war movie w/a cast of so few?? It's STUPID & POINTLESS & could EASILY be depicting a bunch of lazy dudes from the neighborhood hanging out in someone's backyard, talking trash!! NOT funny, NOT suspenseful or educational; just a waste of time!! I come from a family, representing every branch of the military except the Coast Guard. My father & several uncles served in WWII; 3 didn't come home. I married a career Marine who served 2 tours in Vietnam & was also stationed in Okinawa & Guam; one of my sisters married a career Air Force medic stationed in Germany & in Turkey; our youngest sister served 2 tours in the Navy. I have a very clear awareness of war, & this movie doesn't come close!! IT IS AN INSULT TO ALL WHO HAVE EVER SERVED,!!

My Grandad was a Captain and a Sapper, he fought the Japs in the jungles of Burma and blew hundreds of them to smithereens, down in their tunnels and hidey holes. Bc they didn’t have the time and resources to sit and starve them out that would’ve taken years, maybe decades. My uncle was in the Navy during the Falklands conflict and a cousin served on Helmand province Afghanistan. They wouldn’t let me join for health reasons, but I tried applying. I study history a lot instead and I want war films to accurately portray, the real historical events that happened. Hitler and Eva Braun escaped to Argentina. Watch the docudrama film Greywolf and Mark Felton videos; Find the Fuhrer, if you don’t believe me.
