Although I never liked him BEFORE the incident, I strongly believe his time in jail and the Eagles organization did a great deal to make him a better person. Normally a bad egg remains a bad egg a does phony things to fake like they are sorry but I really believe Mike Vick was sorry and humbled by this experience.

A bit of weird trivia, both Drew Bledsoe and Doug Flutie had a stint with Buffalo.

Yep. I remember he landed there after we let him go in favor of TB12. He finished his career in Dallas a few years later and apparently is a rather successful winemaker in Washington State now.

Anyone who says the dam was the infamously hardest level has never made it to the Technodrome. That's where the enemies will one-shot you. Definitely one of the hardest games ever, certainly. I spent weeks leaving my Nintendo in a paused state just to make it that far, and gave up when all of my turtles were killed instantly by some lasers. This game is about building a habitual pattern of play techniques, pressing the buttons just light enough, and timing every hit just right. It's a game of patience.

I watched the 'Hail Flutie' game live in 1984, then killed my shoulder as a kid trying to replicate it every time I played football with my friends. Not a huge memorabilia/jersey guy, but I found a Flutie BC jersey on eBay years ago for a sweet deal and it's still hanging in my closet with no regrets attached whatsoever.

I have a lot of thoughts about this game, but the main one that comes to mind is that it’s a much better game than people give it credit for. It’s not without its faults, but its biggest shortcoming is just that it’s pretty cryptic in general. From not telling you everything to giving bad instructions at the beginning, the game has its flaws. But it’s become one of my favorite nes games as I’ve learned more about it. I’d highly recommend reading/watching a guide and giving it another shot. It’s unfortunate that you need a guide explaining things to really do well, but it’s far from the only nes game to suffer from that.

You are indeed right, and had we the internet and the proliferation of FAQs/Playthrough guides during this time in video game development, I'm sure it would've been much easier. That said, as is the case now, developers at the time were not always good at building their games and LJN was easily one of the worst for the NES. Why we started this channel was to explore all these games and see what does/doesn't work from a fresh perspective. By comparison to Friday the 13th, you should watch our episode on Earthworm Jim! That makes any Soulsborne game seem like a cakewalk!

I haven't played this game in nearly 35 years, however the other torpedos were Aft torpedos, the bit you were missing is you can fire them, but you have to turn the periscope to be facing the rear using the handles of the periscope, so facing away from the convoy using your arrows to position the sub, but then turning the periscope 180 degrees thus ensuring your aft torpedos can be fired. FYI - WGSC - Worlds Greatest Submarine Captain!

Oddly enough, I'm at a point now where I'm super into documentaries about horror movies and movie FX, so I understand how movies like TCM were put together and why they were so effective in terrifying people. For a long time, I couldn't watch the original Alien because of the chestburster scene. It took an interview with the late great John Hurt talking about how crazy that scene was from his perspective to get me able to watch it again now with no issues.

The player is supposed to do an audiable when they want to. You have 3 audiable choices. Typically, the AI will not do that.
@roninsretrocade
@roninsretrocade 2 ай бұрын
Right. I noticed in later NFL games though that Computer-controlled players like Peyton Manning could make pre-snap adjustments like he did in real life. The audible system in NFL 2k2 is still rather basic, and I'm actually okay with it.

Still a great game today. There is just a certain charm from those flat shaded polygons that have helped this game to age very well. I still enjoy it on my Sega 32X and it is one of the reasons why I am a retro gamer today.
@roninsretrocade

Agreed. Mechanically, it hasn't aged as much as people think. Especially since you can be as competitive with a controller as with a wheel. Can't say that about most racing games today.

Funny how Northwestern got a #1 seed while the team that produced 2 NBA Players including long time NBA player Jared Dudley (he’s #3 off the bench) was a 16th seed
@roninsretrocade

That's something I noted when I saw Kentucky being one of the 'Play in' teams. In 2003, they were a #1 seed and made it to the Elite 8, but lost to Marquette. I've been watching the Tournament for 45 years and can't recall them being any lower than a 5-seed. That the computer seems to randomize the seeding for all teams makes for interesting gameplay though.
