The hose you showed going on the heater vacuum control valve doesn't go there it goes on the front of the valve in the middle of the round part of the valve.

I have a similar issue with that vac line not connect. My issue is I don't know where the other end connects as I don't have a line there at all that I can see.

Thank you so much for your video. My AC in my truck just did the exact same thing and 96° F temperature. I stopped along side of the road and popped my hood and Sharon off my tube was broken off. I removed the rubber connector and pushed the broken out piece, and reconnected the two. Now my AC is blowing again through my vent. Thank you again.

Anyone else have an issue when the EATC has no power? I've tried the automatic lights on and off trick and my climate control still won't turn on. I changed all fuses that was still good along with relays. I was praying this hose trick would be the one but I still have no climate control

Ha! Wife has been complaining for a few weeks that when she drives the truck (which is rarely) AC is stuck in defrost. I really didn't want to dig into the system, so KZbin here I come. The first couple vids were standard issues (pump, EGR, ...), but then I stumbled onto this one. When you got to the part about the hose being disconnected back by the oil fill, the lightbulb went on: I had recently replaced the glow plugs, which meant I'd taken the fender liner out, which is likely when this happened. Oila' - problem solved. THANKS!

I’m happy this saved everyone time. Unfortunately I may need other mechanics to help out with the additional questions. My apologies to those of you that weren’t able to fix the problems.

Mine line was off too, but it still doesn't work. I can hear air/suction in the suction pump after I turn off the motor, so I don't think it's that. I think it's that thing attached to to side wall.

Thank you very much for posting this video. I replaced my entire a/c system about 7 years ago because of black death. It cost me $1200. My vents stopped blowing and I was thinking I was going to have to do a complete replacement again. I watched your video about the little vacuum hose and sure enough that was it. I put it back on and everything is working great. Thank you and KZbin.

I see that vacuum line connected to the front and to the back. Which is correct? I've been over mine new vacuum pump/ solenoid I capped off the vacuum lines to my hubs and my AC works but it's a weird situation... I put it in 4x4 it'll blow out the face vents for a couple of minutes then switches back to defrost I put it in two wheel drive it switches back to face vents I do that over and over any ideas

Thanks a bunch, the vacuum tube on mine must have been inadvertently knocked off when I was replacing my turbo solenoid, since they are right next to each other. Gotta love you tube. Thanks Kyle!!

I do have question regarding the part close to your firewall. Where your vacuum line is plugged into is the vertical nipple towards the back, what’s in the front horizontal position? The vertical one on mine has nothing but the line going to the front horizontal nipple is broke. I rigged a small fuel line and it didn’t help.

I have a 2003 F250 5.4L 2V, Gas. My A/C would move to defrost under acceleration or heavy load (up hills). Issue was with the vacuum solenoid. There is no vacuum pump on a gas, no matter what the internet says! Part I used was Dorman 600-402 4WD Hub Locking Solenoid
