Base 24 damage is actually pretty decent for a one hander compared to all the decayed weapons in the world. Its no gerudo scimitar with its doubling effect, but a solid base weapon for sure for general usage. Plus, it has the benefit of always being reobtainable in exactly the same spot, and not too hard to do so long as youve been farming dragons when you see them. Hoverbike makes it easy. Plus its just pretty
