Breathtaking. I began a month of listening to Bach on March 21st. Three weeks in, and I must say, I am never disappointed by his work. Walfried, this was wonderful...thanks for posting it :)

Eine Interpretation, die mir zusagt, vor allem, was das Tempo anbelangt. Sehr ausgeglichen und kontemplativ gespielt.

wow, very nice! i thought it was you playing both instruments?? but then i realized you'd have to be george lucas to digitize yourself in the background lol. so, that isn't you right? good trumpet player though!!! and the accompanist was very accomplished as well haha. (i'm saying "trumpet" but it looked like a cross between a trumpet and a french horn). ok, we're so confused ;)
@clavile9310 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I hope you realized then that I am the accompanist. Actually, this instrument is called Flügelhorn. It is related to the trumpet but has a wider, conical bore as you can see. So you are right calling it a cross between a trumpet and a french horn in some way.

that was soooo cool. dixieland jazz. we used to go to new orleans and listen to the jazz bands and jazz singers from outside the doors (we were too young to go inside)...still love that sound.

That sounds nice. :) I've never been in the US. Would love to travel there some day. But I can easily go to all the places where Bach lived. :D

Whose price? I don't know the original price of the organ and, anyway, prices have changed in the last 100 years, don't they?

It's an instrument by the famous builder Walcker Orgelbau from Ludwigsburg, Germany. It was established in 1911 and has 65 stops.

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. I can see that you're very busy so I appreciate your suggestions. The power of your organ performances are very moving to me. It must be wonderful to sit at such a grand instrument and play as well as you do. I think for the time being that I'll have to stick with the guitar. I hope that when time allows you to add more performances to your schedule that you'll continue to share them on KZbin. They're fantastic.

I make music only in my freetime and not as a main profession. How life goes I'm about to begin studying life sciences right now and busy with rearranging my new life and new musical projects :) so unfortunately I can't think of making a new video before Christmas.

A good teacher is irreplaceable. He or she has a very different view on you and can tell you useful things you've never considered before. To meet a teacher once a week or even less regularly is very adjuvant expecially in the first years of learning.

Thank you very much for subscribing and for your nice comment. I had learned to play the piano a little bit myself by ear before I started to take lessons. I think a piano is a good beginning if you want to learn how to play the organ. It teaches you very much about music. It is good the foundation, you'll have to begin with a manual and to read scores first if you want to learn to play with hands and feet. And the piano is a beautiful instrument, isn't it? :)

You are very talented. You seem to play in several styles. I watched your Fats Waller video and didn't realize that you also played the organ. May I ask which did you play first? The piano or the organ? Did you have a teacher for both instruments? Do you think a person can teach themselves to play piano? Or the organ? Are you a professional musician? I am watching all of your videos and I just subscribed.
