I was haveing problems getting my xt to start. Figured iut it was carb issue. Redcat not only sent me out a replacement carb, they sent me the upgraded walbro carb instead of the knockoff that it comes with. Fired right up after that.

I don't have a kill switch but if my receiver looses signal with the radio the servo for throttle and brake lock up so the car will stop.

I don't think I'd trust the operator more then the boost bottles. Starting fluid really?? Boost bottles only really work on 2 stroke reed valve engines. I'm not familiar with your engine but it looks a lot like my air cooled 2 stroke engine I have in my RC boat. So it's basically designed the same as a Weed Wacker engine only modified and doesn't have reed valves. Plain and simple if it doesn't have reed valves, is on a nitro engine, isn't tuned properly and or has air leaks a boost bottle will not work. This is 100% a uneducated operator error nothing else. If the engine had any life left afterwards you then blow starting fluid down it to make sure it doesn't. Give that car away and stick to non mechanical devices please..

I have same truck it's all stock but it runs grate not changing anything I do have belt drive on it it seems to lost top end but bottom end is very healthy n strong

My redcat 11 years old still today it runs good it's all stock still
