One of my favorites, great collaborations all over this album. The background singer is Fleming McWilliams from Fleming and John. Ben Folds had them open for him back in those years, which is how I discovered them. Definitely worth the listen.

I remember when I first heard this song. I was somewhere between 18-20 and I was studying for an exam, in my bed. It was a beautiful, warm spring evening at about 22 o'clock. In some point I fell sleep. Radio was playing beside the bed and suddenly in my sleep I heard that something special is happening. THIS SONG started to play in radio. It was weird that I was actually sleeping and at the same time in my sleep I could hear this song. I woke up after the song ended and I had no idea what it was I just heard, but I knew it was incredibly good. Since radio was not yet in internet I had to write an email to the broadcaster and ask what it was :) .... And this song has a special place in my mind since ....

It made me CRY to see Bill look over at the singer after he heard her hit that high note at 3:30. GOD, why didn't I discover this sooner???? I only did because of Henry Rollins. By the way, to anyone who knows... Is that Ben Folds on one of the pianos? I know he's the one who made the album happen, and one of the pianists looks like him. Just wondering!

What hasn't happened yet? I'm three minutes into this and I still don't know. Why did he just look at her as if to say, "What you doing?" This is all very confusing.

Great night into day cut, worthy of Roger Corman. It was interesting to see the old white guy in an NVA uniform with the unending magazine of ammo.

I got to meet Bill at a party last night (Christmas Eve)! What a soulful gentleman! I knew it was time to listen to this song. I told him how much I love his music, and he told me there was "something coming out soon!" What a wonderful thing to look forward to. William Shatner, Merry Christmas to you and Elizabeth! Bill: it will happen.

I bought this album when it was first released, Jeez, its almost 20 years ago - this track is one of the best on the album. This live version is not as good as the album version, especially with a good set of headphones with all the surround sound stuff going on. This track still makes my hair stand on end and makes me feel pressure under my eyes.
