Great sound, great playing. I got one of these and it is totally clean (except for a hum which I am at my whits end trying to fix). When you say cranked, is that Gain and Volume at 10? I can't get any crunchy goodness from mine and the only way I can think would be to just max out everything - which isn't very practical as it would be too loud to be in the same room.

Whatever it is abou the DOD 250, I never heard it. Gave mine to Yngwie when he was with Alcatraz, sounded okay with him, but just okay.

Great video! Demos should be always realistic like that. The amp sound pretty boxy. Wonder if a different speaker would make a difference or if it’s the cab.

Was searching 'how to' play "City Lights" to see what variations were out there. I was surprised to find your lone rendition. You do it masterfully. You should do another clip that is clear & better video where you can see the guitar neck and hands. Make the header title like 'How To play Flamin' Groovies - "City Lights" Alvin Youngblood Hart There seems to be a cyclical interest for the Groovies and maybe you could turn a lot of people on to their brilliance this way.

Back in the 80s I was in a band with another lead guitarist (RIP). He had a 2200 and just ran a DOD 250 OD Preamp in front with a Hondo Flying V with a DiMarzio Super 2 in the bridge. Total vintage Vivian Campbell tone. I was so jealous ‘cause I had a Carvin X100B tube halfstack and he had such a nice tone! :-)

Old video I know but is that just guitar and amp no pedals? Or attenuator? Sounds perfect, must be very loud at home? Your Marshalls and playing are probably my favourite on KZbin

Dang Alvin! It's got an amost JTM45 vibe going. I'll have to get my Bassman Ten modded like this! I saw in another comment you added the cathode fallower but what else was changed/added to the circuit?
