The most important thing about landing at ATL....meowing on guard.

I used to park at the edge of the runway there on the outer road and plane watch. My parents worked at Eastern Airlines. I love that airport.

As an Atlanta resident we do take great pride in our wonderful trees. I live 8 miles from downtown, yet we have coyotes patrolling our neighborhood “forest”. Watch your cats and dogs! That approach plate has so much information. I suspect when you travel to an unfamiliar airport it’s required homework before the flight.

Atlanta, a great place to go. I will say however as a widely travelled non American, the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is the most confusing and worst designed airport I've ever experienced around the world. It's horrendous to go through there and discourages me from flying in and out of there again. A shame really for Atlanta.

Wonderfully smooth landing. They need to clean the rubber left by tires in landing by the planes! I once watched a documentary that said that they did that every night, the accumulations so great.

This was pretty neat to see I-285 & I-75 from the air. I always found it fascinating to watch airplanes flying so low when traveling on those interstates. We traveled to Norway a lot and I remember when Hartsfield became international. Before that, we had to fly to NY, then to Amsterdam and then Norway.

Hmmmmm!the things that we take for granted even flying in an airplane, as a person traveled a lot it's only after watching these about airplanes the take off the landing and so many more information how there are so much to do and follow one must give high appreciation to all that involves to make safe for we the travellings public to enjoy .Bravo to all the pilots,ground staff ,air traffic controllers,and everyone else who make all possible for us to enjoy safe flights to and from our destinations.

Airport also has the worst TSA setup of all airports including Kennedy and LAX. And I live 30 minutes away
@fairalbionАй бұрын
ATL is very well run. My only niggle is a corollary of the airport's layout: the centralized TSA security checks for domestic passengers. Everyone is funneled through one or two bottlenecks (North or South) feeding all the concourses. Other airports are decentralized with separate terminals, each with its own security.

Thanks for posting. Retired ground supervisor from ATL. One of the things I miss is in the evening hours during the busy pushes just watching the blinking lights as far as you could see all lining up for their approach in intervals of about 30 seconds. At the same time 50 to 60 aircraft lining up on the parallel taxiways taking off in 30 second intervals. It really is a beautiful sight to watch. It never got old for me. There’s a lot of things I don’t miss in my years at that airport but that is one thing I do.

Do pilots need to contact ATC for every country they're going to fly over?
@FromTheCaptainsSeatАй бұрын
Yes… Most countries have their own Air Traffic Control facilities. Airspace (especially in different countries) can get very complicated. Luckily pilots have access to maps and charts with information for every country they fly over along their route. Great question!!
@TheBonzomaticАй бұрын
I can't believe how smooth that was! I backed up the video twice to see if there was any bump on touchdown and couldn't see it at all. I fly in and out of ATL a lot and I am always amazed at how well things are run there. I've toured the ATZ regional center and it is incredible to see hundreds of planes on the scope coming in from 4 quadrants and yet there's rarely any incursions.

I live outside of Atlanta. I love this video. Shows just how scenic and green Atlanta is. Someone I know made the comment that Atlanta is the largest city built in a forest. This video pretty much completely proves his statement correct. The scenery is beautiful, the music ia beautiful, calm, and relaxing, and the added info is a great touch. Informative and relaxing. It wasn't until the view of 285 in relation to the runway became clear, that I realized the approach was from the east side of the city. Then, when 27L was shown, it confirmed what I already knew. Great video, well done. Thanks!

Been living here for more than 40 years, I still don't recognize landmarks, coming in from the West! As for the trees, the forests have been decimated since we arrived in the early '80s, and there are still an awful lot of them. ATL remains one of the best airports on the planet to fly into and out of. Security can get slow and sloppy, but otherwise the the efficiency of going from check in to your gate on any of the 7 concourses, and F International is a good mile from the check in counter, is a breeze. Pity we don't have people movers, but Hartsfield is just a great airport to use.

Awesome View, ATL is the Airport I travel from and I've been on flights landing there hundreds of times but never with a view lke this. I am constantly amazed at the Efficiency of ATL. They move maybe thousands of people per hour, but the Terminal is very clearly marked and navigable. I rarely feel like it's extremely crowded or inconvienient except maybe before major holidays and even then it's not that bad because they staff for those. I would actually pick it as my favorite large Airport even if I didn't live in the Atlanta area.
