No offense but the fact that you claim that Google says that paraffin is the same thing as kerosene just indicates that either Google is wrong or you are intellectually lazy and didn't bother looking it up. Paraffin is wax, plain and simple.

@AlfredeBlome-df3sg 🤔??? In the UK, C1 Kerosene (or K1 Kerosene in the US) is called Paraffin. You can also have Paraffin wax which is different, this is used to make candles etc but is still made from oil.

So these are safe for closed environment use?

I always keep a couple of windows cracked slightly open for ventilation and have a couple of Carbon Monoxide monitors to be safe, however I do use them to heat my house. Also regular maintenance is paramount to keep them burning clean and correctly.

My parents have had several kerosun heaters over the years. Im from the US were call parafin kerosene. Parafin here is refered to as the wax used in candle making. I find it interesting that the flame in your heater is blue. Where in Kerosun is yellow.

Expensive fuel now.

Unfortunately yes. I've roughly worked it out to cost around 19p/kWh at the price that I get it at, whereas our electric costs around 24p/kWh so it is a bit cheaper. I also just enjoy using it 😂👍.

Just got a scruffy old version of this for my workshop - my granddad had one in his workshop and I loved the smell. _Esso Blue_ was the fuel of choice back in the '70's. Definitely going to get one of those at some point - it looks fantastic. Seymour the cat wanted that box, was he allowed to climb in and trash it? _CHEERS!_

@@dancarter482 thanks for watching! Oh yes, they truly are great heaters, I have one in my workshop too 😃👍. O aye, Seymour made good use out of that box, it lasted him a good couple of weeks, now he thoroughly enjoys cooking himself in front of the heater 😂.

@@Johnny53kgb-nsaare you in the UK? I purchased mine from a company called Riverside Works Japan and had no issues at all. Be aware of the Import costs, tax etc though, this does cost quite a bit 👍.

When I was using one I always Filled, Lit, and Snuffed it outdoors. Great Heater but I spilled the K too often and couldnt deal with the smell. But thats just my opinion

That's fair enough 👍. There's honestly almost no smell with this model lighting it and turning it off though which is great. The Paraffin does have its distinctive whiff but I quite like it 😂. I've tried the more expensive "Paraffin Extra" which has next to no smell at all but it does cost quite a bit more.

Thanks! I'm very impressed with it up to now. Sorry for the delayed response. The answer to that is yes and no... In the UK, Kerosene is normally classed as C2 or "28 second heating oil" which is too dirty for this heater, whereas, what is usually called Paraffin is normally C1 grade Kerosene which is suitable for heaters such as this. As far as I know, in America what I would call Paraffin is called K1 Kerosene, I hope this helps a little.

From my experience!!! Both work the same. I was told by U.S. stoves to only use kerosene. All the KZbin videos said you could use Parriffin. I purchased both and noticed no difference in burn or time. This is a expensive way of doing it. A diesel heater is much cheaper. Also safer. If you can have the diesel heater outside and an vent hose connected to the place you want to heat. Don’t cheap out on diesel heater. If you have a forest. Outside wood boiler is a great idea. A little sweat equity ( chopping wood) will save a bunch of money.

From what I could research, paraffin is a more refined version of what I have in the US which is K1 kerosene. Lucky I have a good source of K1 kerosene here in the states
