I hated driving these. The steering was awesome! I could've spun donuts in this bus. I'm only 6' and didn't fit in the cab. There was a strong anti-freeze smell in the cab that made me sick more than once. The kneel controls were on the dash. Cried a little every time I got assigned one.

Phantoms can technically run up to 25 years if they wanted to! Gillig buses are built to last for many many years of service with proper maintenance!

These trucks suck. Having tub and loading arm in front of driver much better + can tips faster. New trucks also have silent air brakes, no more screech, chaaa, screech, chaa.

5 have already been scrapped. 8 are used in active service and 13 are kind of just sitting in yards with some issue or another that may or may not be worth fixing so they're sitting until fixed or sent off for scrapping. They're moreso just waiting until the 6's finally start getting released for service to start scrapping more.
