Yeah silver lake trail head and recreation. You can find multiple types of riding terrain. Most of the water holes have trails you can go around them if you want.

What is the alcohol situation at silver lake? Rules say no alcohol but do they enforce or come looking for it? Will be going for my first time in a couple weeks. In a rzr turbo on 32 will I have trouble avoiding deep water?
@roguelegend11753 жыл бұрын
A couple years ago I would say 32’s would be okay with snorkels. These days the holes are getting deep. Silver lake is sort of in a grey area when it comes to alcohol. The silver lake trail head enforces the no alcohol but they won’t check your coolers. You just can’t be out in the other areas openly drinking. It’s not an off-road park it’s a recreation park. Once you’re on the trail. I’ve personally spoken with the Leon county deputies on the trail with a beer in my hand. You just can’t be belligerent and not an obvious danger to people around you. Very fun place to ride either way though. We have year long passes that we buy once a year and we don’t access the trails through the trail head anymore. We park a friends house and go in.

@roguelegend11753 жыл бұрын
That’s a slippery slope. Some of the trails are hard to keep track of. They have little signs posted along some of the trails but not all of them. You can most definitely end up on hunting land, or on a main numbered forest road where you you’ll see a lot of hunters. Some are nice. Some aren’t. We don’t really like cold weather to ride in and we also hunt so we try to keep away during hunting season just because the sheer amount of people hunting sometimes.

@roguelegend11754 жыл бұрын
Most definitely wanna use those vents. There should be one for the front diff one for the trans and one for the rear diff. You will fill those parts up with water if you don’t use them and plan on going deep.
@roguelegend11754 жыл бұрын
The cooling fan actually has a little vent on it as well. I’m sure it’s for heat that builds from the fan motor but it will allow water into your fan as well. I also bought a on/on/off toggle harness from dz power sports that controls my cooling fan.

Can’t say for sure. This puller works with most Polaris clutches from 85 to 2016 or 2017 I believe. Go to amazon and type in your ride and clutch puller and something useful should come up. Look for the fitment charts.

On this bike. Make sure both of your carb boots and air box tubes are all sealed. Use grease on the carb boots. Make sure the vent lines that are on top of the carb are run up. Make sure you have a drain tube and a 1 way check valve hanging down for your over flow vent that’s on the bottom of the carb bowl. If it has electric choke try and get rid of it. Pull the choke out of the carb take it apart put the needle back in with a spring and a good plug that’s sealed. Adjust the float level for a little more fuel in the carb for the front end floating for more than a few min at a time. Make sure your gas gap is sealed. Grease your spark plug boots. I siliconed the spark splug wire connection at the coil. Pull your Ecu and check the back side of it. They have factory silicone backs on the them and they dry out and crack and will allow water in (sometimes) and then get rid of your pull cord or silicone the handle on.
@cooperwaller81444 жыл бұрын
Hey man, I know you posted this a year ago but I have the same bike and was wondering what all you did to make it water worthy? I’m trying to make sure I grease everything and don’t forgot any vent lines.
@roguelegend11754 жыл бұрын
It’s cool. On this bike. I greased all the electrical plugs with di electric grease. Including spark plug boots and where the spark plug wires attach to the coil. I actually siliconed the connections at the coil. Pull your ecu and inspect the bottom side. Should be a silicon backside. Make sure it’s not dried out and letting water in. Get rid of the pull cord and seal it. If you have electric choke on the carb. Get rid of it, but you have to leave the needle inside with a spring and a good plug. I had a buddy machine an aluminum cap to press into the hole. Make sure your float level is set for the front end floating for more than a few min. Make sure your overflow vent on the bottom of the carb is hanging down with a one way check valve. Make sure all the other vents are run up. And other than sealed snorkels to the belt box and air box. That should be about it.

How did u make the carb water tight?
@roguelegend11754 жыл бұрын
It took a few times trying to seal it but if your dealing with a mid 2000s arctic cat 500. Then just make sure you’re starting with a good carb. Make sure the boots are good that connect it to the engine and air box. Run the vent line off the top of the carb up high. The lower vent line(over flow) tube will need a good quality one way check valve hanging beneath the carb. If you have a electric choke do away with it. You’ll need to pull it out and cut it loose and put the needle back in along with a spring and plug. Use silicone or di electric grease around the cap where the throttle cable is connected to the butterfly. Make sure your float level is adjusted for water wheelies also.

Even with factory snorkels you should go ahead and make sure all the connections are super sturdy and sealed. grease your spark plug boots and your ecu plugs and any other electrical connections you can get to. i also use di electric grease around my airbox lids on all my machines. We watched a kid at boggs a few weeks ago sit the whole weekend out cause his got a little water either in the spark plug boots or coil or ecu it was skippin and poppin. he kept saying it wasnt even broke in yet like 6 or 7 hours on it. same bike you got.
