i'd be interested in a direct comparison to a tadpole 26" fat tire on the same trail and on a beach. I'm looking at e-assist trikes and trying to decide. I want something capable of good uphill AND downhill and off-road, like a farm truck replacement for grocery-getting and adventuring. Pony4 quads also interest me. I'm seriously thinking of ditching my vehicle for one of these. I love the bike RV videos i'm seeing by people like Max le Bourlingueur. I am over 50 and was rendered homeless by the 2020 fires and that setup looks pretty amazing. I'm also tired of dealing with an expensive vehicle and terrible roadways. For awareness, I think everyone should watch Stroads by Not Just Bikes.

Excellent! I have a Trigo (under seat steering) with rear differential and Shimano STEPS motor. Bought it new in May so I have not had a snow to try it out in yet.

...lol...ahhh, you were just out havin' fun !! Well getting that front wheel into the action certainly makes sense. I'll have to think that one over for this upcoming winter season. Thanks!!

I'm thinking of adding a geared hub motor to my Lepus front wheel. A couple questions if I may: Are you using a torque sensor bottom bracket? The unweighted front wheel doesn't spin out on you?

4 Hase' owned here. Have 3 Lepus'. I installed a torque sensor, bottom bracket, geared, front hub on one of my Lepus'. I weigh well over 350 lbs. In my not hilly area, my FWD works beautifully! Bought my items from Grin Tecnologies, as I trust that company. Bought 20" wheel with geared hub motor. Two of my Lepus' have 16" front wheels. I actually prefer a 16" front wheel as frame is lowed, (looks much prettier too.) I also own Roady and Fatty tadpoles and Fatty quad too. Hase Lepus' are my best recumbents by far! You DO want to use a torque sensor bottom bracket! Not hard to install. Drilled hole in BB to pass wires through. ALSO got optional thumb lever throttle on my Grin order BECAUSE now handicapped. (Riding recumbents since 1990, and almost 69 years of age here.) Throttle illegal on many bicycle paths, but no one knows it is there and it is for emergency use only! Incidentally, my hub is only 250W, NOT larger..., because 250W is legal on all bicycle paths! Grin does offer geared hub front wheel in 16" now! Hase makes a front wheel cargo rack for saddlebags on front wheel too. Exercise, touring, scenery viewing, wildlife watching here. See "Jason Stillwater" (me) comments elsewhere. Gary

Lovely trike! Does it feel safe going downhill on icy streets?
@jeff227757
@jeff227757 2 жыл бұрын
Surprisingly safe, yes. Each rear brake is independent so you can work them like anti-lock brakes in a way depending on which may have better traction. The trike also has a low center of gravity so in addition to 3 wheels it really provides a safe experience that you cannot get on 2 wheels and a high center of gravity.

Using that small wrench, if you use a hammer + a long Flathead screwdriver a couple taps will get the bolt loose. You should be able to use a ratchet with a 6inch extension from there to unscrew it.

Did you ever have any leaks from those little cuts into the drain pipe, or did you apply some kind of sealant before you installed the new flange?
