My eighth & final year at Horseshoe was in 2011. I'll never forget walking back from the Saturday night campfire while an instrumental version of this song played over the speakers; my buddies and I stopped at the parade field on our way back to Timberline, sat on the rock wall, and cried. I had lots of incredible adventures as a scout, but nothing was as exciting as that week we spent at Horseshoe every year. If only I'd known to appreciate it more fully back then.

In 1971, when I was tapped out, we were given a red wooden arrow to wear to our Ordeal...it was on a white string...Upon completion of the Ordeal, you received your Arrowman Sash...you then removed your red wooden arrow and put it with your Scouting mementos...I still have everything pretaining to my Ordeal...the ceremony and the meanings were very well done...Different Lodges use different items to signify new Tapouts....the red arrow has been found to one of the most common and visual items....

Damn, when I was announced it was at a court of honor and we just stood up and people clapped. Haven’t done my induction yet so idk, but we are in the Midwest and OA is outshined by Mic-Oh-Say. (Induction is in 3 weeks.)

Though it's been 25 years since I was at scout camp, I can say with near certainty that our dining hall experiences weren't nearly this exciting. There were some excellent times though. We were also troop 78 as well (disbanded nearly 20 years ago)

Always a treat when Earnie takes the mic. He was the camp director when I attended and it was awesome. He also was my instructor for personal fitness merit badge.

Hello, may I use this video as part of the Chester County Council Virtual Camporee being held on April 18th, 2020? It would be part of the opening ceremony in the morning of the camporee, along with additional videos of Scouts from other troops doing the Oath and Law?
