Nah as an Arsenal fan, I couldn't disagree more. He is not at all like he is hyped up to be. Especially playing in the CDM position (deep lying playmaker). He is a defensive nightmare. He loses the ball too easily. He ruins the rhythm of attack quite a lot. His passes are not that impressive either. Mostly small obvious passes or long diagonal passes to switch play. But even CBs do that better. His tackles are mostly non existent. Yeah he is vocal. But other players can do that better as well in my opinion. He tends to be too vocal for my taste. Can make the team more nervous than necessary. Little teams don't exploit his weakness as much so when we're winning it tends to flatter his performance. But bigger team can really twist and turn him like a pretzel. Absolutely useless in defence. I think he maybe could be better in a double pivot next to a more traditional CDM and just being responsible for playmaking or even going forward to support a bit more. But at the moment, he's 100% a liability. Partey can do EVERYTHING he can do and then some. FAR better as a player and as a CDM or Playmaker. In short, Jorginho is a luxury player. You have him on IF you've covered your basics with other players around him. Maybe he deserved his praise back then. But definitely the opposite effect he has in Arsenal in my opinion. Sadly our manager is too immature and stubborn to bench him for Partey...

The ultimatum of his strong character for me is when Chelsea played under Sarri and in one particular match where he was booed coming on as sub, he just smiled and played the way he intended to without the boos affecting him. Man is the maestro of playing under pressure on and off the field.

seriously ... this is what happens when football becomes all about numbers, J5 volume of passing is because he takes the balls and passes it backwards, he's slow and clumpsy and costed chelsea many goals against them, and of course he never gets injured, he never runes, he never challenges, and never catches up to the opponent, and then you take someone who's weaknesses are the core necessity of his role, he has to be strong to break the attack, and he has to make long passes, everyone can be great at short pases, that's the minimum requirement to make it to the premier league or most leagues these days, he slows the game way too much, frustrating, can't go back and help the defence, most of the time he has no idea what to do with the ball, most of his passes in the last season were back ... so i would rather have Kovacic over J5 any day, he's stronger, quicker, mare agile, better dribbling, helps defend ...
