I'm glad I found this video! For as long as I've owned my hot rodded humbucker set I could never get along with the the Jazz neck and it's been rusting in a corner for years. Magnet swap might make it actually worth using.
@kuitaristi30032 күн бұрын
Hi. Maybe. Pickup is still the same but different magnet makes it sound a little different because magnets reacts different way. I like stock Jazz it's more clear and not too boomy like SD 59N, which is good neck pickup too but more bassy.

@kuitaristi300317 күн бұрын
Hi Bairov. I use the same pedal order that Jimi used, except i also use reverb pedal on some clips: Amp > reverb > univibe > fuzz > wah > guitar. My wah is normal cry baby but i put yellow fasel to it. My fuzz is made by solkio sound kustom (he has KZbin channel also) and it's just basic silicon fuzz clone.

I learn also that, i still like G12M25 more but it would be interesting to get full 4X12 with G12H's to test, tho those are just so expensive speakers so don't know will i ever get more than one or two?
@MikelBluni17 күн бұрын
@ I think you are fine with what you have. A 4x12 doesn’t really make a big difference in the basic tone. So if you prefer the 25s it’s perfect, just go for it. Jimi oftentimes had a JTM45/100 as the first am in the chain going into two Super Leads 🎸✌️

Hello, I greet you from Argentina, in my opinion you are not objectively comparing the microphones since you are not testing them on the same guitar, the difference in wood and construction gives a result of completely different base frequencies between both guitars, therefore the logic would be to try using both microphones on the same guitar using the same equalization and amplification parameters

I'm not sure I think there is a shift going on in the guitar world where guitarists are leaving the modelling amps/plugins and are going back to basics to real tube amps. That certainly gives the best tone and feel to guitar playing. Only downside is with recording then you have to cranck up the volume a bit for the microphone.
@kuitaristi3003Ай бұрын
Maybe? Modeling doesn't have same feel than the real thing, if feel at all. Still modeling is future cause it's way more easier to carry modeling stuff all around world than big amps and cabs. Of course there is also smaller amps now too.

BB clearly more forwards than the Dimmy. And like Blake said below: the Dimmy has more character, more texture over all. That's funny because judging by the alnicos used for either you'd think the opposite to be true, wouldn't you. Clearly Dimarzio has some extra sauce to theirs.

Why did you choose to make custom pedals rather then buy a pre made sound? I am just getting into pedals and I am just curious. Thanks for the video!
@kuitaristi3003Ай бұрын
Hi. Custom pedals were cheaper because i did not have to pay for name/brand or any other additional cost, and the guy makes well made pedals. That "well made" is also reason why i don't buy amps from shops because i can get handwired amp from amp builder for almost same money that shops sell cheap made circuit board amps. Handwired is easier to work/fix if something goes broken.

Okay, I don't understand why you used a 59 Neck in the bridge position? Maybe it doesn't make a difference whether you use a 59N or 59B in the bridge. Maybe they are the same? As for sound comparison, the SD has more power and is more articulate. The Dimarzio PAF sounds a bit muffled and weak. And I think you played a Gibson Les Paul mahogany body with maple top, am I correct? The SD's fit well with the Les Paul but does sound a bit too bright on the trebles for my taste. The Dimarzio because it is more muffled it is softer on the trebles.
@kuitaristi30032 ай бұрын
Hi. Just for curious to see how 59N compares to Dimarzio 59. Dimarzio is warm sounding because it's bridge pickup and Duncan brighter because it's meant to be neck pickup. Neck pickups in bridge is always very bright, like too much for my taste. I use cheaper Tokai LP this video. These days i have Gibson Traditional 2016.
