Did I miss the luxury? OK, the new trains are great, but the ship didn't sing to me. It was just a ferry. And while there's no restriction on luggage, there's precious little on Eurostar - as much as I can carry, for sure. And with prices from £39, I know how I'd go - £21 by Easijet!

@jonathanbeattie3410 I'm talking about customer experience. I guess if you're cheap then you get what you pay for. But sometimes with certain destinations there are no options but to fly with Ryanair. I just cancel my plans instead of flying with them.
@ryansawicki783218 күн бұрын
757 is more than capable to make that flight and I'd argue has much more space than a 777 economy seat. I think it's a psychological thing flying an aircraft with a single isle transatlantic. Even the A321 neos provide more comfort IMHO.
@RoadCone41119 күн бұрын
I didn't see anything that made this flight terrible, to be honest. I may not be United's biggest fan but this didn't look so bad. The B757 "sardine can"...have you been stuck in the economy section of a B777 before? If you can't sleep in a B757 then I doubt you'd do any better in a bigger plane. Sure, the seat could have had more legroom - fair - but that's UA''s decision and they offer pretty much the same seat and room on their larger planes. And the food and IFE are pretty much standard across the airline on similar flights. The only real gripe of a Transatlantic narrowbody, in my opinion, is there can be a line for the lavatories as the ratio of passengers to lav can be worse than bigger planes. However, it can also take as much as 5-10 minutes less to get off the smaller plane when you arrive, by my unofficial estimation, which is a bonus that usually negates the lavatory experience to me. Others may feel differently.
@ryanlittleton561517 күн бұрын
Yeah the 757 is no more of a sardine can than any other narrowbody.

I wanted to visit Venice, San Marino and Rimini as well as perhaps Florence so getting to Milan by train would be perfect. I first visited Rimini, San Marino and Venice in a school summer holiday trip in 1983 in a coach from London and based at a hotel in Rimini. Most memorable and I want to go again.
