I did the same as you and when you get to the other side there is a sign for a dry route you can take instead. I would only take it if the water was crazy high or if I had a dog. That was black water.

Excellent filming!!!(5*)....I find shakedown are good for practicing camp setup and breakdowns. Can be done in backyard lol. Trust me when I say the AT will train you,start slow,take break go slower and you will have your trail legs in no time.Best of luck and wishes for a safe and memorable journey.As a new fan I can't wait to watch as you go!!!!!
