I'm very "connected to the industry" and play a lot of games, but I never play just released games, I always wait for the definitive edition and deep sales. My backlog is already big enough as it is right now. I watch reviews of games I'm interested in and if they are good they go to my wishlist. Sometimes I get these games on Epic or Prime Gaming before I get the chance to buy them. I don't use social media that much, I only watch news and gaming videos on KZbin.

I just play nothing but indies. Makes it really easy to be unconcerned with the latest game drama when I am enjoying something niche made for people like me. But tbf I just have very little to 0 interest in AAA's or even AA's with RARE exception.

I got The Witcher 3 Comolete Edition last year for $13 on PC. Now it also has a raytracing update that I can experience. All for $13! A fantastic deal.

I loved resistance. It’s not Halo, but I still loved it. I really wanted a sequel to 3, or a remake/reboot. The trilogy deserves more recognition and a chance to return to the spot light.

Best thing I did was walk away from social media. Helped my mental state so much. Deleted FB and Twitter cause i fell into the outrage culture when Star Wars got bought and ruined by Disney and Filoni. I stepped back into IG and Threads but avoid them mostly...I have None on my phones except KZbin cause you sadly can't really delete KZbin off a Google phone LOL. YT is easier to ignore too...and i only use YT Music to listen while i work. I much prefer to sit down at the computer how we had to do it back in the 90s and early 2000s before Smartphones. I'm all for getting rid of Smartphones and MAKE people have to sit down at a computer. You find out who the real computer people are and who are just addictued because it's in their pockets

No offense, but gaming got ruined by streaming and all making gaming that used ot be just a hobby for nerds and outcasts, popular. We used to get fucked with and talked about negative for spending all our time on games and online. Now that streaming and monetizing gaming became a trend and job and the fact it's a SPORT now. Esports was IMO the worst thing.

god no. it was a launch game for ps3 but it was never meant to be a system franchinse like halo.. there wasn't enough of the most important elements like memorable characters and stories for that. It was more of a technical showcase for the PS3's graphics.

Another app that really helps is steamdb, it lets you see the price history of every steam game (along with other metrics). So when a game gets on sale, you can check how often that game is discounted, whether it's been discounted more heavily in the past, etc. It really helps decide when is the best time to buy games off your whishlist.

Lol i played all those games when they first came out i don't remember anyone calling resistance a halo killa there pretty good either way

I got a lot of free time on my hands a little too much if I'm being honest but at the same time, I'm trying to avoid FOMO, I will ONLY play a game day one unless if it is part a genre or series I really like and it looks insanely cool. But nowadays I wait, whether it'd be sales or buying at cons at getting lots of physicals at vendors. I also play lots of past releases too, I play games from every era all though my cut off date is seemingly 1996 since I'm a pro Playstation gamer and many games before the PS1 were 2D side scrollers and it's hard for me to care since 2D games come out in droves now, what even makes older 2D games so special? That and I covered every SNES game through Nintendo Switch Online in 2022 giving me less reason to go past 1996. With that said, I aim for a middle ground, I view video games like TV shows, every level beaten, story milestones or missions is basically like watching an episode and I tend to be focused on the main story since I view side quests like filler episodes in a pre 2010s fighting shonen anime or those random villain of the week episode in non anime. But yeah, I'm noticing more than ever with people saying they hate "Twitter" or "X" now and how much they hate Elon Musk and claim they are using Blue Sky when they come to X and use it anyway. When you view the internet as cult groups meets organized crime meets pro wrestling everything regarding fandom and communities become easier to accept. Just play games, watch shows, and watch movies then be on social media. Being on social media might singlehandedly be the least productive thing ever. I mainly just use X to rant about about bad internet statements and take notes to write for reviews.

Great podcast.. great game. The bosses just aren't that fun and I don't feel like they jel with the rest of the game .. just beat it on game pass and I honestly don't care to do the "good ending" Yang seems like he's selfish and running a cult. Also .. doesn't even feel like we killed him anyway.. just punched him in the stomach. The real skill is in the combat throughout the levels & with the arenas now there is no point going through the boring, tedious bosses

You'd be surprised that most people hear about a game and buy it in impulse. Usually people buy a game in the first couple weeks then sales fall off until sales happen.

I genuinely believe if Sony remade Resistance (and Killzone for that matter) the sales would be better than the original releases. I can only imagine the low sales is what made them step away from both titles. It seems to be a common opinion that Sony needs some fps titles and with the flop of Concord I think they need to look to the past. If you can’t come up with a new IP in the fps genre then why not remake an IP you already own and has an established fan base. I for one would absolutely pay full price for either games to be fully remade for PS5/PC. I know insomniac is tied up in Marvel games but look at Silent Hill 2. Remade more than 20 years later by an entirely different team/studio and they NAILED it. Used Bloober team and Capcom as inspiration for how to handle the remakes. Hire a competent team, give them a solid budget, time and step back. 30M/ea for Killzone 1 and Resistance: Fall of Man and you will absolutely turn and profit. You’ll bring back old fans, create new fans and if executed well enough we will all be hungry for more. 😭 Shit I’ll settle for just porting sly 2 to modern systems at this point…

I've been Facebook free since 2013. Other Social media sites like Twitter ( X) never grabbed me. So it's only Discord and steam when connecting with like minded actual friends. Made me almost FOMO free except when KZbin shows the degeneration of the Gaming industry. Now as a GenX gamer I watch these mega corps ruin what for most of my life was my relaxation and fun. Time to back to the yard and fields and enjoy nature.

Thanks for making the video. I really think that the whole “Halo Killer” was entirely made up by and pushed by the gaming media. 100% certain there wasn’t a single thought in the minds of any Insomniac employees while building it that they were trying to make a “Halo killer” whatsoever. I really think they saw the popularity of early 2000’s WW2 shooters (MoH / CoD / etc), and also saw some good sci fi shooters (Halo / Half Life / Killzone / Gears, etc), and decided to make a fusion of the two. And I think if that was their “target”, they hit it perfectly. If it was trying to be some high octane response to the Halo franchise, I can see why it was a let down by comparison. But I don’t think it ever intended to be that.

It definitely wasn’t a halo killer but it was damn good at what it did and it nailed the atmosphere it was going for. I’ll admit Halo is a better series but I personally prefer the setting, lore, and gameplay of the Resistance universe.

I recently beat resistance 3, and i beat resistance 2 over two months ago. In short i had a great time playing them for the most part. It's been years since i played fall of man, i'm thinking about getting another copy of it, so i can revisit the game.

I didn’t have any fps issues in resistance 3 on my ps3 slim. Playing from a disc, not hard drive. Maybe you played in 1080 and I played in 720? lol

A cross-over game would be sick ngl, Xbox don't have a. "mascot" apart from like Halo so if it was a 3 way game with a main series would be cool free on all aswell or like a way to get it for free on all if you have subscriptions and also a way to pay for it, It ddepends, Won't happen but a good idea, In whichI wish came true, In the game you play as Astro, Kirby and a character from halo and different characters throughout on any of the 3 main new consoles with a lot of features/mechanics.

I really hope some day we see a new entry in the franchise. In my opinion the best way would be to release a PS5 Remaster for all three campaigns and also the 8-player Coop mode followed by an complete Reboot cause to much time has passed since Resistance 3. Hey! Seing this 2 years later really shows how people overhyped the game... The fact that you like being rewarded cars after each races is not really a good thing. If you played the games before the PS4 era, you will see what is the actual career mode.

What I found most annoying (I do not think the story or voices are a huge drawback since the gameplay is most important) is the fact that some things are just not telegraphed well. During the second main Boss fight, it took me a while to realise what to do since it didn't initially work and I assumed I had to do something else.
