Thanks for the video. I’m hoping to race next year. You didn’t bring any camping or sleeping gear?

Thank you! I didn't. I either slept outside (on the ground or picnic tables) or used hotels. Mainly hotels so I could get a hot shower, clean my clothes, and get out of the cold, especially out West.

I have the same problem. Mine stopped working when I was in Texas. I had to have a company unlock my car and after they did. My door handle no longer works.

How did you get the plastic off??to put the new latch on 16:50

You mean the plastic covering? It just peels off or you can slice it with a razor knife. To remove the old door cable you need to use a flathead screwdriver.

@@sevsantana1940 Do you have the cable inserted properly? I had it jammed in wrong at first, wouldnt move with the door handle. The square black piece needs to be inside the insert or the cable won't actually extend and retract

The cable I got off of Amazon seems to be holding up pretty well after 8 months so far www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09H6X6W8T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

@@philrogers9058 It was extremely tight. I could barely fit my arms in there. That's why I couldnt really record when I was doing it. Lots of imprints on my arm though

Great video. you rode over a century each day for 20 straight days? What month did you start in winter gear?

Thank you! Yup! That was the average. I think my shortest day was 90 and my longest was 150. I started in mid April. Very cold haha

Amazing ride!! What Challenged you are real legendary. Could you please tell us about what equipments you in a video? Which month you recommend to start this trip?
@theownerofall111
@theownerofall111 4 жыл бұрын
I can definitely do that, but it'll be a couple months until I can since I'm at sea onboard a ship! I used a Trek 520 with 2 panniers, 2 dry bags up on the front wheel, and a trunk bag also. I definitely recommend shower's pass waterproof knit gloves and have a good rainjacket and rain pants! I think April is a good time to start if you ride from South to North that way you'll be in nice weather the whole time. If you start in Minnesota and ride South, maybe try to start end of April or early May so you can avoid the winter storms.

Hey there, I put some of the equipment I used in the description, hopefully it helps you. Hoping to do a review in the future when I'm not away at sea!

Love the ride! Any lodging suggestions? I’m thinking of doing this ride soon. Did you stick to the MRT or did you map it yourself?
@theownerofall111
@theownerofall111 5 жыл бұрын
Hi J L, Its long but definitely worth it! I stuck to the MRT as best I could. Some flooding pushed me off it at times. I used Bob Robinson's guide book and followed his directions, with a few changes so I could hit Iowa and Tennessee. I used the Hotels.com app and searched for the cheapest/closest hotel at my end point for the day. 10 stays = 1 free night, which worked great for me. If youd like my hotel list/stops I can send that to you.
