it's fucking incredible that this is a score for a barely known indie game. my jaw was on the floor every time i heard a new piece while playing. you've got some serious talent that i would honestly expect to hear in the most popular movies in the world. like, this composition is on hans zimmer's level (for my humble uninformed ears, but still). and i've been listening to xid's theme on loop all day today. i haven't even finished the game yet!

I love dynamic music its so fun cause you get to expand on a theme to make it "battle" like you said usually with drums. My favorite dynamic music is Banjo Kazooie because each area of a level got different instrumentation and even different tempos. Do you have a video game background? Its really cool to have your music picked up and put in a game. For a good example of how to arrange your track for a soundtrack i really enjoy street fighter 6 fete foraine. It goes trough each 'round' as well as the in between rounds to make 6 distinct sections. You're cute we should go on a date and chat about it sometime

I love this song so much. The orchestration and the buildup is just so epic! My favorite part is the little "3 note sections" (parts where the little 3 is written above the grouped notes)
@FilmCompos3r
@FilmCompos3r 7 ай бұрын
Thanks! Those "3" mean "divide the beat into 3" rather then 1 or 2. Also called "triplets"

@@FilmCompos3r Ah, triplets! That's the word I was looking for. I don't use them often, but I always get excited when a good opportunity arises to put them in a piece of music.

The music of this game is just outstanding. The themes and styles are really strong! - Especially this one has such a strong identity that I can picture an entire theme park section themed around Muktuk's heritage just by listening to the soundtrack alone. <3

What is that instrument on the left side around the 45 second mark?

It’s an antique thing called a “Marxophone.” Basically just a hammered dulcimer with built in hammers!

Interesting. Could there be any reasoning to why you used it (along with the shell horn at the start or any other more unique instrument)?
@FilmCompos3r
@FilmCompos3r Жыл бұрын
@@MagusDouken For me the conch shell was an obvious choice, since Muktuk's a sea dwelling walrus and all! Overall I wanted his music to sound "old," since he's often drawing on his ancestors and his spirituality, and I think the marxophone helps with that.

So much work and quality of the music in this soundtrack went completely over my head during gameplay.
