So is the older woman telling the story is that Itchey? The kids girl at the start of the movie is Itchey? The older women had high top shoes, and there was honey on the grave. Can someone explain this to me????

Un jour, les canards sont arrivés sur le lac, le lac a gelé, les canards se sont envolés, et ils sont emporté le lac. Je m'en souviens toujours..La charmeuse d'abeille, un film magnifique !

There’s so many good lines in this film but one I love is when they’re on the train passing a “Hooverville” shanty town and Ruth tells Idgie “but this isn’t our food to give away” and Idgie says “Yea well that’s church talk and those people you spend your Sundays with, I see down at the river club every other day of the week doing anything but pray” I was only 9 when I saw this film but that scene the takeaway was, even if you’re stealing your feeding the starving. During the depression people had nothing including food and tossing them canned goods from a boxcar would hardly be reason to cast you out of heaven I know this much.

You only come across a friend who teaches you how to live once and you had better hang on to them . Idgie taught Ruth how to live .

The beautiful things about this movie: Some situations are totally comedic, others are serious and presented or dealt with comedically, and others are presented or dealt with seriously. True dramedy! When Idgie lets Ruth be her friend, they become best friends and have fun together a lot. Ruth helps Idgie to enjoy life, and Ninny helps Evelyn to enjoy life with her stories of Ruth, Idgie, and others. That's my take on this movie.

Idgie is one of my heroes. The movie, the depth of female friendship, even omitting the gay factor, affected me deeply. I remember it well, from 1991.

I think that I may have seen Chris O'Donnell at the a bar grill place downtown once. As I went into the restaurant restroom to use their bathroom real quick. The day I mistakingly sold our family's 1941 World War 2 silver ice bucket to s shop locally. I got jipped..low balled offer though.. anyways..🙃

I think Ruth was bisexual, Idgie gay. It's clearer in the book. But aside from that, it's about the power of female friendship. They always had each other's back.

Can someone who read a book and watched a movie share their Opinion about the question that has been torturing me? Why in the movie Buddy knows Ruth and they have romantic relationship, but in the book Buddy died much earlier before Ruth comes in their town?

Simple. Because they changed it in the movie.

Thats the best piece of acting I’ve ever seen. The unawareness of his situation and how real his panic felt even though he didn’t know why he was feeling it was heartbreaking and honestly the most realistic death I’ve seen. The way he looked and acted made him look so innocent but so driven when he died.

I get why so many think of this as a homosexual couple, but I really enjoyed seeing this type of non-romantic deep friendship in a story as a teenager. I found their love and commitment really inspiring in a way I didn't with romance stories. Sometimes, people make it sound like these stories of deep non-sexual relationships are poor homoromantic stories, but perhaps they could be rich friendship stories?
@anabltc5 ай бұрын
Yes, you are right in general... but this one was pretty homosexual 😂 The kitchen scene, ahem 😂 I was a teenager when I saw the movie and told right away "aha these two are lesbians" 😮 (literally just learned what lesbians are)
