I dont think it's right to ask for high maher out of greed. But what do you do if the husband divorces and kicks you out? You have nowhere to go and maybe your own family are being oppressive towards you. That 60k and that car is going to come in very handy. Especially if you have kids.

This is true. Materialistic Mahr in the first place is foolish of the woman to ask anyway when you think about it. It's as if they dont understand that they are marrying someone hence they can get gifts or money etc AFTER the fact if your husband is good? Its dumb. No need to complicate things this much. Mahr and Nikah contracts exist more for other reasons and more practical applications. Its all about your heart , no one in their right mind would think ANYONE is righteous if they ask for ridiculous things. They will get declined.

Women are housekeeping meaning she is a chef, a psychologist, a therapist, a nanny, a teacher, a cleaner, a shop assistant… and yet you don’t see the value in this. The same way as men are westernised and think it’s ok to marry and dump women and kids without financial support, she has to look out for herself and children. Men only values where they put their efforts in.

What about the Qintar .... just saying; Allah said, وَإِنْ أَرَدتُّمُ اسْتِبْدَالَ زَوْجٍ مَّكَانَ زَوْجٍ وَآتَيْتُمْ إِحْدَاهُنَّ قِنطَارًا فَلاَ تَأْخُذُواْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا أَتَأْخُذُونَهُ بُهْتَاناً وَإِثْماً مُّبِيناً ﴿٢٠﴾ But if you intend to replace a wife by another and you have given one of them a Qintar, take not the least bit of it back; would you take it wrongfully without a right and (with) a manifest sin. The Ayah commands: When one of you wants to divorce a wife and marry another one, he must not take any portion of the dowry he gave to the first wife, even if it were a Qintar of money. We mentioned the meaning of Qintar in the Tafsir of Surah Al Imran. {Samia2010oct; In Al Imran, www.quran4u.com/Tafsir%20Ibn%20Kathir/003%20Imran.htm , Ibn Kathir explains ‘Qintar’ as (Scholars of Tafsir have conflicting opinions about the amount of the Qintar, all of which indicate that; the Qintar is a large amount of money, as Ad-Dahhak and other scholars said. Abu Hurayrah said: “The Qintar is twelve thousand Uwqiyah, each Uwqiyah is better than what is between the heavens and earth.”

Frankly Financial security is a Requirement- and it's Ridiculous to talk about a 'gold digger"- when Allah azza wa Jal mentions Qintar ( a High quantity of Gold if divorced don't take if back) - meher mostly High nowadays cause people don't Trust each other I divorce....etc

While I agree with not asking for a high amount, you do have a point. The cost of living is high and women need a safety net. Besides, the cost of living in America is twice it was 2 years ago.

@@shimmer4771 Where is the belief in Allah? Is he not the provider? Do people not trust Allah. Finance is important but we as people are not content. Who owns the cost of living? Allah owns it all but who are we going to, to seek help? We go to people instead of Allah. Money is a never ending pit full of unpleasant things, place your importance in that pit you will never be satisfied. Why are people afraid of going through tough times? People say this life is temporary but they live it as if its permanent. By not placing a high mahr do people realize that they save a lot going into marriage I have 100% belief in Allah that he will provide for me, I have zero doubts that when I marry Allah will give me the opportunity to provide for my wife. I will never seek financial freedom because I don't care about wealth, Allah will provide for me until my last breath. And ever since I began to feel this way I haven't slept hungry nor have I been homeless. When will people understand that Allah is the provider, when will people put their trust in Him and not money. Its a shame the effect money has on marriages, its a shame.

As long as you place importance on financial security that is all your life will be. Allah is the provider, everything comes from Him even the jobs people brag about, the opportunity to work comes from Him. Islam has surely been integrated with the western culture and value. Money is more important than anything else, if the man has money everything else can be overlooked, if the man has money Allah is secondary, you can see this through the actions. People say Allah is first on social media but through their daily actions its different.

I want to understand the mahr system bit better, my mahr was bare minimum and we had our nikah in the masjid alhumdulillah. But I do have 4 daughters and I don't want any men to abuse them financially, as according to Islam women aren't entitled to allimuny in event of divorce. It's very easy for a men to divorce his wife and move on. So what a Muslim woman should do?

@@shimmer4771 I also have seen the other extreme in the west, where the women takes a stake on all that her husband has after the divorce. There should be a balance between the two. And our girls need to be educated on how they can protect their interest while staying within the law of Shari'a

Is it only burning the Quran that is condemned? What about the Hadith (Islam)? The Torah (Judaism)? The 13 different Bible canons (including Protestant, Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Armenian, Coptic etc etc)? Where is the definitive list of what religious books may, or may not, be burned?

Abu Bakr commanded Zayd ibn Thabit to compile the written Quran, while he was doing so he burned loads and loads of qurans that contradicted each other or sounded to stupid. eventually he assembled them in to 1 copy and ordered any other qurans that anyone had to be burned. there are 31 different arabic qurans versions with disagreeing writings search youtube for The Quran's Many Problems 09 - Thirty-One Different Qurans! 31!
