@@steveybrown2 the new fluids including the Lucas, helped reduce friction, so it went from horrible to not bad, but I have a bad synchro, and there’s no miracle cure for that. I’m am currently waiting for parts to fix that.

The plastic ring that you see everyone replacing, including myself, you could do from the outside. You don’t have to remove anything except for the cover plate, and that makes the seal against the cover plate, the black gasket that you’re referring to that goes in the inside for that you have to remove the pump And to remove the pump. It’s a lot more elaborate job. I believe to the very least you need to remove the engine mount bolts to be able to move the engine a few inches up or down to make room to be able to pull the pump or drop the engine completely that’s why you don’t see a lot of people doing that. And when you buy the ring and gasket kid to do the front, it comes with both.

This is one of the most common vacuum leaks for this gen. Another option you have is to put a vacuum delete plate, same steps easier to install and less expensive

@@DirtbikeDad I would start with the throttle, but it could be a number of things. Vacuum, Bad sensor, I am Working right now on a car with odd idling and it was the throttle body sensor cables that caught heat and melted. Are you having any other symptoms?

@@blacksheepxgarage no other symptoms. It just started doing it. After letting off the gas n put in neutral (5spd) idle hangs around 2,000 then slowly drops to 1,000. It just started having a code running lean on bank 1. It’s a 2.3 4 banger. Other code it’s had was thermostat below threshold. Basically stuck open. My lil daily/work truck love it. O yea it’s pushing 300,000. I already replaced the original self adjusting clutch after it just gave out all together. Any input would be great. Throttle cables seem fine.

@@DirtbikeDad check the throttle Spring and maybe clean it like in this video, it’s weird that’s only doing it in that gear tho, if it was a physical obstruction it would do it any time it got to that point

The first attempt to charge the battery the charger was left on for about 20 hours and it never got past the charging face. The color kept alternating as it was still charging so I went back. I did the repair mode after repair mode two times and putting on a regular charge then it went to fully charged, afterwards I tested battery amperage was good and voltage was good.

It was the ecu, oddly enough I had this happened on a a second car a few weeks ago, also an older car, so maybe not so odd.

Sure did, I recall voltage was at 12 but cca was in the 300s, the battery was severely depleted. The smaller aux batt was dead so it just sat there draining this batt for days.

How long does it stay in repair mode and how does it indicate when complete?

Air compressor/tools, helps a lot. But you can get a sanding pad kit and go to town.

They have a few different types. Most smaller, and i believe they have one bigger one and cabinets too. This one cost me $55+tax, suits my needs and works very well. They also have blasting mediums (the type of sands)

Oil pressure has a lot of elements, oil pan, gaskets, chambers, etc. oil pressure can escape if any of its components breaks or cracks. Let me know if you end up finding your leak!

No. El sensor de la llave esta en el Swith de la columna de volante. Ese manda la senal al ecu.

Hey, www.vwvortex.com/threads/stability-control-fault.6994120/, has some insight, I personally haven't run into this problem. The vacuum pump is part of the ABS system, and it could be affecting it, did you get that code immediately after changing the pump? If so, it could be an issue with that.

Did you connect the throttle cable back correctly?

I was trying to figure if this would work. I need to do a follow up video, it didn’t work in the long run, started leaking again, and now i will change the pump. Will update soon.

@@blacksheepxgarage likely doesn't need an entire new pump. In my case the metal gasket looked much worse than the cover seal. Replaced both and all worked fine

I did about 2 month ago, was running fine, and on the first long run after a long time, oil light came on, few blocks away from home engine starting clanking hard. So it has to go back in to the shop. Ill make an update video as soon as I'm back home.
