Depends on what it's going over rough rusty surface takes more coats if you said down a surface say with 1400 and it's super smooth the clear is going to look alot deeper 2 wet coats should give you a deep high gloss finish

Absolutely you can, it's an actual clear coat you can cut and buff, wax, ceramic coat whatever you can do to a modern paint job.

No only go over it with scotch bright to looses any stuff that's sitting on top. You can sand if you want with 600 grit to get down deeper but it's not needed.

Yes it should be fine, alot of old truck or even show trucks have old, old primer on them and they get coated. Really just depends on what kind of paint/priner it is. If its spray paint then i wouldnt try and wipe it on i would spray it like i did. , scuff with scotch Brite wash with dawn and water to de-grease let dry completely and coat it will seal it like a new vehicle.

@@dodge088 It was done with a professional grade primer spray on as far as i know. I painted the hood and doors flat black and i'd be wiping it on top of that and the primer. The roof is already painted and clear coated.

Still running it average 20 across country, in town sucks around 15.

This is an actual hard curing clear coat just like on a modern vehicle, penatrol you have to keep treating your vehicle with it.
