While the weapons were cool and all, the people using them physically cannot have hurt Spider-Man for the simple reason that his speed and reflexes are too high. I know it was ignored for the movie, but...that's like having Harry Potter forget he can use magic. "Oh no! He forgot he's a wizard! However will he defeat this random mugger?" The power also dramatically exceeded anything the aliens had.
