The Soft Cell rendition is solid, but I've already heard it everywhere for years since it remains a radio staple to this day in my area. That said, if the 1991 Mendolssohn remix's single edit ever comes to streaming (the one used for the cosmic music video), that might send me down the rabbit hole.

Yes, this was back when pop'n music commissioned the original singers sometimes to reperform the song for the covers (Other examples in this mix include Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis, performed by Yoko Takahashi, and Honoo no Kinnikuman, performed by Akira Kushida).

Incredible song list overall. Really good DDR Throwbacks, In the Groove along with Pump it Up stuff which was an awesome choice! I like this better than PIU Phoenix or DDR A3.

It's a theme for StepMania, what's being highlighted in this video is that the Preferred sort configuration has an order set for certain mixes.

Why is there a difference between the Billboard and Billboard Japan websites' versions of the Japan Hot 100 in how many weeks songs are on the Japan Hot 100? For example, Billboard lists 1.15M km of Film as having 49 weeks on the Japan Hot 100 while Billboard Japan lists the song as having 207 weeks on the Japan Hot 100?

Basically, there are some weeks missing from the US database and others where for whatever reason the data got garbled. Sometimes it results in wildly off peaks and week counts, like Tenbyou no Uta being listed as having a top 30 peak it never actually got. That’s why the Aiko song’s peak has a “(?)” next to it: the song doesn’t have a Chart Insight page on the Japanese website, and I have no clue when it would’ve originally charted, so I have no practical way to fact-check the US website’s peak listing.

I don't think it has a shot. It was leading the midweek digital sales chart with ~21k sales, but it's not even top 10 on audio streams, which those sales are not going to make up for. The surprise challenger for the week is actually "Start Over!". I thought it would just be yet another "pre-release decent start and then mainly fueled by a physical campaign" ala Fanfare a few weeks ago, but instead it's actually #4 on the midweek audio streaming chart and #3 on the midweek digital sales chart (albeit with just ~3k sales, but every little bit counts). If it compounds with a good push on radio, it *might* take the Hot 100 crown, though I still expect Idol to pull through.
