I AM FOR IT.. The E=college is design to stop the Big cities from exploiting the Farmers ie small towns. IF the big cities are allow too, they will keep taking form the real producers ie the Farmers and leave the Farmers out of the distribution of the profits.

This was an excellent lecture with profound insights into healthcare, particularly the importance of care. I thoroughly enjoyed this lecture. Thank you Dr. Kleinman for sharing your story and your expertise. This message of the importance of care in the medical setting and the focus on institutional efficiency reminded me of a recent event. In 2023, a major medical treatment and insurance provider in Utah invested heavily in a company-wide re-branding. They changed the organization's name from Intermountain Health Care to Intermountain Health. There was an intentional removal of the word "care."

The winner-takes-all system at the state level silences hundreds of thousands to millions of votes. Every state should operate like Maine and Nebraska and have 1 electoral vote per district, with the extra 2 votes going towards the winner of the popular vote in the state.

I think nowadays with all modern technology and news outlets the average person should be educated enough for their vote to count. It should be turned around where the electoral colleges give us their recommendations and our votes should be the deciding factor.

The Australian voting system is a good one, but it would not easily translate into the American context. In Australia the party with the majority in the House of Representatives forms government and the head of that party becomes the Prime Minister. Similar to the majority leader in the US HoR. So when we vote, we vote for the party candidate that is running to represent our electorate (voting district). Whomever is voted for in the electorate then becomes that electorate's representative in the HoR. The party with the most representatives is the winning party. The PM and government pass bills into law with the Senate approving or rejecting them, same as in the US system, with the exception that we have 12 Senators per state and two per territory (we have six states and two territories). If a bill passes both houses it is signed by the titular head of state, the Governor General, who represents the King. The GG is the Executive and his or her duty is to be the final arbiter, but he or she has no real day-to-day power and is a figurehead, even though our Constitution technically gives the GG ultimate power. On only a couple of occasions has the GG overruled the government's wishes. As for voting, well here in Australia it is compulsory and you must have ID to have your named marked off the electoral roll when you go and vote. So we don't have the same problems of trying to get voters to vote or problems with voter fraud. Usually, when the polls close, we know who the newly elected representatives or Senators are and who is the Prime Minister within a few hours. It's a pretty good system.

i don't understand. we vote for electors to "choose for us"? so then why do we vote for president? it's not like it's going to convince the electors who clearly made up their mind about who they're voting for regardless of the nations opinion?? and if the electors are voting based on our opinion, why are some electors of the same state voting blue and other electors of the same state voting red? they're clearly biased so what's the point??

I did learn something new, however, every vote doesn't matter!? We the people do not count. In the past it looks like whoever gets the most electorial votes first wins. Kind of like a race to the finish line. Do we not add up all these votes and who gets the most electorial votes wins? I feel cheated and feel we are making a decision that doesn't matter,

US President is indirectly the President of the World. His decisions impact everyone on earth. It’s highly risky to elect such important person just by popular vote. Because it is easy to manipulate voters with emotions. So we need professionals to select and elect the President in the best interest of people of US and World. For now there is no better choice than electoral college. God Bless America and God Bless this World through America.
