Why are they called "Aussie Racing Cars" when they're left hand drive?
@CaptPatrick0121 күн бұрын
An amazing variety of cars from throughout the years in a professional series is something that up until now I thought only existed in video games. _And Australia has _*_several_*_ of them!_ How was I never told this?

My question mark over this race even at the time was - how was 015 allowed to keep circulating after getting assistance out of the gravel trap?

I'm conflicted on this. On one hand, I hear these cars were either race cars for decades and never pampered, or they were _salvaged_ and turned into race cars. On the other hand I see the crashing and think "Could we not, plz?" They're not show cars, they're not museum pieces, but they're still irreplaceable. So I hope they were all repairable.

Aren’t Holden fans pathetic… even when a ford wins they make dumb statements like oh but Holden won 12 times in the past compared with 7 ford wins… pick your bottom lip up sad man…. But was a giggle that what 5 Holdens blew there innards all over the road… only need 1 ford in the race when you’re up against pathetic reliability like gm showed in that race, brock usually won his races in a different Holden to the one he started with..😂😂

This is way cooler than most "prototype" style series. I wonder why more racing leagues aren't like this. Pretty easy to set power to weight, power to drag, and max overall downforce ratios for the cars. The harder part is proportional tire width limits, but if you do that you'll have cars roughly theoretically equal both in the corners and straights. From there it's pretty simple to limit driver aids and computer-controlled parts, as well as banning exotic materials and "unsafe" stuff like unsprung aero, ground effects, and suction fans. Then again, it's not like cars of the downforce level I'm thinking of (roughly 40% of a GT car's downforce, or in other words, 20% of the car's overall mass in downforce) would end up needing or getting suction fans, anyway. Then again-again, it could be used like the Murray T.50 as an efficiency thing. Though at that point we're back to trying to balance the performance vs development budgets, as well as other aero factors like how dirty the wake is. Cleaner wakes = closer racing = BETTER racing and more entertainment, so I'd definitely have to look into some way of calculating the "dirty air factor" and rating each competitor's car based on that.
