😂 They will never be children all their lives, they will rule one day even over foreign land, we witness this occasion, God is the witness tommorow & he will not fail, bless the Lord.

While in graduate school in architecture, I bought two Creole cottages to restore just outside of the French Quarter and used to hear that calliope every day. Happy times.

After watching a video about how the banabas were treated, that song is a very emotional one. Isa the actrocities, their displacement, these people are really resilient people. I have distant cousins from these island here in yasawa and also have friends in Suva and Lautoka. They are great people.

Ei ...dimdims .... don't think my people are stupids,the songs that you sang to our children and grand children are not new too us . We used sing those songs back in the 50s and 60s when we where growing up in home ....Papua and Papuan schools .PS....you should tell that white fat boy with the beer that he shouldn't be drinking in front of our children also alcohol and water don't mix.Just a Word of advice,thank you.

please note that Banaba is not in Kiribati.... please do not give false information, though most Banabans have Kiribati connections....Banaba is different from Kiribati they have their own culture....very different from I Kiribati....we may be under Kiribati govt but we are not I Kiribati.....

@elizabethtabore26584 жыл бұрын
@@karitematiaatarake4532 Korabwa, I am not confused simply stating facts. Culture is indeed different, from all the islands under Kiribati any other has the same culture where the men after marriage will go with the women to look after her family? Do women in the Kiribati culture automatically inherit land if they are the eldest?? No it all goes to whoever is the eldest born son not the eldest daughter. As the daughters will leave their homes to go to their husbands home. The cultural dance is also very different...I do not know why you say I am confused. Is it hard to respect that there are differences in culture? I am proud of both the culture but acknowledge that the Banabans have their own culture different from the Kiribati culture. Remember please that Banaba, Tuvalu and Kiribati were merged when we were under Colonial rule in 1919. It was because of Colonialism that Banaba is under Kiribati governance...otherwise they would not be under Kiribati...NO offence to Kiribati but those are facts that I am not confused about.
@elizabethtabore26584 жыл бұрын
@@ruurubeiaburao2365 In Nui they speak Kiribati as well, does that mean they are automatically I-Kiribati? Or what? The Tuvaluans were not happy about being identified as I-Kiribati they wanted quick independence and away from the Ellice and Gilbert name as the Kiribati culture was overwhelming theirs....
