I can get FM stations from 150-300km here on a long wire. The good thing about this radio you cannot seem to overload it with a long antenna.

that 910 CKDQ we received that here in Australia from Cairns north QLD back in 2019. We heard the ID "Real Country 910" & had to google to find out who it was

Could you tell me the location of this FM bandscan reception please? I heard one station ID as "New Country 981" which I am guessing could be CFCW Camrose AB Canada.

First, thank you for subscribing. Second .. this was from just SE of Edmonton Alberta. But yes it is CFCW 98.1 Camrose.

I have heard quite a bit about the TEF 6686 Receivers, though I have not seen the model that you are using there before. It actually looks a similar size to my Digitech 1745 Receiver. it looks like a great receiver to use while traveling as well.

1. You're getting quite some QRM from whatever surrounds you at your location, limiting sensitivity/reception. If there's a radio you can bring on outdoor activities away from civilization, it's the Belka and out there you might be getting even more (MW) stations! :) 2. Particularly on LW/MW, the Belka is much depending on a counterpoise. The speaker version even more, because it doesn't have the headphone lead attached to give it at least some of that. That's reducing sensitivity and causes the display noise to interfere when you don't touch the radio and it also shows that... 3. ...obviously, with some strong stations close to the radio you can get it to overload on MW if you touch it. This is probably due to the tuned input filter not being used below 1.5 MHz or so. Interesting, the closest MW stations to my place are weak and at least 200km away so I didn't know how much difference that filter makes, or had a chance to see how the dynamic range is a bit more limited down there.

This video was out in the country with only 1 house anywhere near. There are only 14 AM stations total near (within probably 500 km / 300 miles) where the video was done and I got all the ones I expected. Going out to some far away park is on the list of things to do.

I have had the radio for a few weeks and still on my first charge. I am using a Nitecore 2300 mAh. So I cannot 100% answer it, but I have not experienced any issues that stand out.

It is really good on FM. AM it is pretty good and holds its own against most radios.

If you want to do this quicker .. you can put the radio in auto mode (press the tuning knob in and put it in auto). Then use the up/down direction of the tuning knob.

If you look at the ID (lower right) you often can see the station callsign. Would you like to see this and more detail in the video ? Please let me know.

The other radios will be coming up in the next few weeks. Today .. the Qodosen SR-286 the newest TEF 6686 radio (it is really HOT on FM).
