I was part of a delivery crew that sailed a brand new Hood 38 across the Atlantic to Guadeloupe in about February / March 1981. She was called "Solei Cho" (Hot Sun). I wonder if this is the same boat?

I like the smaller cataramans and particularly the layout of this one. The bigger ones tend to have 4 cabins and 4 heads (bathrooms) befitting of a party boat instead of practicality and sailing.

@@TreasureAdventure congrats on the purchase, what is the year and name of the vessel you bought. As stated they are not the fastest boat but they are more than capable for offshore work, Very sturdy boat in a blow. We did a few mods to the steering as our helm was a tad tough to turn.

I couldn’t find much about them online so it’s very nice to hear that they do well offshore. What kind of cruising speed in 15 knots did you normally get? Thanks again Greg! Ed

What year is this yacht? There must have been a very limited production of these "45 Wide Body Sportscruiser". I have been looking at these types of yachts for a number of years now and this is the first time I have seen one of these types. These limited productions seem to have been produced to make the customer droll, because they have the design and features that everyone would like to have but they are not available. Please expound on this topic, particularly on its availability.
