Hello I am running into the same problem with needs water message. I will contact Fellow but this seems to be a product defect in design. I would recommend retain retailers pull the product from their shelves. Crate and Barrel I expect them to tell me to work with Fellow. Not happy for $365....wow what a disappointment. You can buy a $75 machine that works better....

Hey guys. Just bought the opus and wanted to give you a quick feedback. Pros: Lovely design! I don't even mind the plastic. Reminds me to the good old days when we had all those beautiful Braun products of Dieter Rams. I'm making only espressos with it and it's perfect, nice consistency. Somewhere between 1.8 and 2.2 it always grinds perfectly (depends of the coffee). Cons: Inner adjuster: incredibly complicated. No way people understand how it works. There is a LOT of retention left in the machine. Put in 16g, take out 15g. I constantly have to hit the top quite hard for half a minute to get all the leftovers out. I'll be surprise if the poor fellow will survive more than 6 months. The lid-bellows doesn't do it's job at all. The cup is incompatible with a 51mm basket. If you take off the cup's lid and try to poor the coffee to the portafilter, it suddenly slips out of it (because it's anti-static, which otherwise is a nice feature) making a mess, no matter how careful I am. I placed a magnet on the bottom of my 51mm compatible dosing cup and use it instead of the original cup. 3,5 out of 5 stars. Still love ya guys! Hope this lovely product will develop with time. Peace.

Why does my ode gen 2 jam when I have coffee in the hopper? I use setting 4-7, and if there’s coffee beans in the hopper, it jams and stops. I reached out to customer service 12/9/24 and still no response. Also I use light to medium roast beans.
@FellowProducts4 күн бұрын
Hi there, it's Hailie from Fellow! A few questions for you to help me troubleshoot - first, how often do you clean your grinder (i.e. open the grinder up and get into the burr assembly to clear out grounds / oils, or send grinder cleaning tabs through, etc.)? Second - when was the last time you calibrated your grinder? Hoping we can get you a simple fix here!
@michaellam3334 күн бұрын
I used it less than 5 times before I noticed the issue. I was only grinding maybe 30 grams once a day during this period. First time it happened, I cleaned it out, then it happened a second time right after I cleaned it, so I cleaned it again and then after the third time I stopped putting beans in the hopper altogether and now I have to slowly pour a few beans at a time as it’s grinding so it doesn’t jam. I never calibrated the grinder as I assumed it was calibrated at the factory and it was brand new. I had a great experience with your kettle so I thought it’ll be the same with the ode gen 2.

My Fellow Aiden coffee maker keeps asking me to add water when the water reservoir is full. I tried clearing the water feed, refilling the water tank, and restarting the machine but nothing works. What should I do? I've done some research and it seems there are many people having this issue. Apparently, it is a return to Fellow for replacement situation. Looks like Aiden may need to come out with a dot one release of the hardware. I guess we'll go back to good old reliable Keurig. Truly bummed.

@@rashadnagi7531 you got this! I'd be interested to see how this coffee performs on V60 at a slightly finer grind than suggested in our video, as well as at a coarser grind setting - given solubility of this coffee, the coarser grind (coupled with brew style of V60) might make for an even juicier cup of this coffee 👀

I've watched many reviews even after I purchased my opus and all of them had negative things to say about the inner ring. I understand the frustration especially if you grind coffee for different brew methods, but the inner ring works. In my first couple attempts I managed to dial in and get good shots without any fuss. Just keep a diary for your grind settings if you're not sticking to the same coffee beans. For me the opus works great since I'm brewing coffee from espresso to cold brew and I wish I would watch this video before any other grinder reviews. Thank you Nick for this video.

Sounds delicious! Curious what variables (grind size, pour structure) you might tweak for conical drippers like v60
@FellowProducts13 күн бұрын
Pour structure might just be a few more pulses or more continuous pours, and grind size-wise it depends on what you want to get out of the coffee! A finer grind than I'm using here would compensate a bit for the larger exit hole in V60 vs Stagg X, giving the coffee decadence / viscosity, but I could see a world where you open the grind setting up coarser as well to increase particle size / area of contact while increasing flow rate to potentially extract a juicier / punchier brew OK nerd moment over - basically, this coffee is truly fun to experiment with!

As great as this video is, there's a couple of parts that are still confusing: For one, he specifies "centering" the burr when screwing it back in... this is super meticulous and I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. Like, I align it with the screw holes and screw it in, that should be good enough but my OCD is not happy with that Secondly, the calibration. He says to turn it until it "chirps", then take it one click back. Thing is, mine starts to make a very subtle chirp/click one click before the loud chirp like in the video. So if I follow these instructions based on noise, that means that my grinder set at 1 will make a very subtle click/chirping noise, and I'm not sure if that's normal or I need to take it one more click

@FellowProducts25 күн бұрын
@@nicoleanastas1041 Hailie from the coffee team here, happy to help! This might be long-winded - pls feel free to ask any follow-up questions and I’m happy to continue to chat through: For cold brew, you’re always going to want to be on the coarser end of your grinder’s spectrum (most typically the VERY coarse end, as cold brew typically takes 2-24 hours to brew) Brewing batch is more of a medium-coarse, depending on batch size. As a reference point, for batch: I take what I’m using to grind my pour-over / single doses at and make this coarser by a few settings (a few larger adjustments vs micro or in-between setting adjustments) Hope this helps! :)
