That seems kind of sketchy for a big bike, I worry about using mine for my DR650. I also put a front hitch on my 24' class C so I can carry it front or back. My motorhome has a short wheelbase with a long rear overhang so weight back there is a worry, it actually drives better with it on the front hitch, I put inner spring airbags on the front and rear airbags on.. I also have the hitch stabilizer and the hitch pin bolt stabilizer. Instead of using the inner tie down loops on the rack I use those tie downs directly to the hitch to relieve some of the weight on the rack, it also stabilizes it better. Good luck
@iAmMarchal9 күн бұрын
@@armadilllo I’ve seen front mounts and considered them for a bit. But I think that bike is just too big for most hitch carries . Definitely sketchy. I had a smaller Kawasaki and that worked great for that. Your setup sounds pretty stout though!

@@iAmMarchal I worked on this for a year. Started with a self build of the habitat using a "reefer box" used. Never did go through with that plan. Then I found australmotorhomes who made the 3.5 pod for the Isuzu nps, the non American version of the Isuzu npr. Almost bought that. Yet, a Oregon guy stopped me and said don't do it. He said that company just sells the camper built in China rebranded at twice the price. So I did five months research and bought there. The Isuzu is converted to 4x4 by Ridgerock in Miami. I had to build a custom subframe. Ridgerock supplied the super singles. If you search youtube for australmotorhomes 3.5 pod you will see it. Very high quality composite build. You want one, I can deliver turn key for you!

Wow that is an amazing truck. In 2012 I bought a Ram 3500 Longhorn and even back then the interior was incredible. In that year it still had the gauges in the drivers cluster and to be honest it looked like something that was made by Rolex or something. The attention to detail was great. I also today have an AEV vehicle with a Chevy Colorado Bison.

A thought, if you drill a hole & put a plug in, I suggest placing it on the lower left side (driver side) of the panel. It might be a little more out of the way. Route the wire behind the fridge… there, my two cents. Thanks

Hello. I’m considering getting a used hq 19 and working on improving it. Do you still have yours? What’s your experience so far? I’ve been warned to stay away from purchasing one, but as long as it’s structurally sound, I would be able to fix it enough to make it work??? I’ve heard stories of axles falling apart and bad wiring causing fires!

Yes I still have one. I’ve not had time to work on it though. It’s up for sale on Facebook marketplace. I wouldn’t buy one if you’re not into some improving of the finishes. I bought it for the structure as a fixer upper. Anyone not into that may end up may be dissatisfied with it.
