My ears are bleeding when I hear such a guitar out of tune, but I recon that's a great guitar. Got mine in Thailand. The PTB system is amazing (and understimated) you almost don't have to touch your amp settings and you can get incredible timbres using medium to high gain on a tube amp (+ guitar volume knob modifying the EQ too)... but it should not be said too loud 😀 Happy jamming !

Hey, I saw that you had a glass nexus & timeline. Do you know how to control both pedals with the same midimate?
@Passenger955 ай бұрын
You know, there was a way, but this video was 13 years ago. I can't recall now, but I think there was a piece you could buy that coupled the two pedals plus connected to USB for updates. But I think that piece is long obsolete, at least for updates.
@ApotheosiZ5 ай бұрын
@Passenger95 thanks for getting back to me. I'm running my midimate into a Diezel Herbert, then the glass nexus & timeline. I'm able to control the Herbert and 1 of the pedals at a time, depending on whether I have the s1ch set to 1 or 2... I wonder if I need some sort of midi splitter or a completely different midi controller in order to midi control both (all three amp + nexus + timeline) 🤔

I am glad you got one again, and I hope your family is well now. They are wonderful guitars, I traded one for a jazz guitar and while I love it... God sometimes I wish I had one of these again. I own a very modded telecaster too and I can't justify getting one of these really, but aren't they lovely? Hugs from Spain :D

Is that the same G&L you used on the Sierra album at Bandcamp? You are correct that Leo Fender made some incredible sounding guitars long after his "fender" days.
@Passenger957 ай бұрын
Yes it is. It's an '88 that Dale Hyatt sold to the lawyer who eventually ended up representing them against Fender the company after Leo's passing.

I have one question which is devided by 13 the best to play in U2 style ? which won?
@Passenger957 ай бұрын
In general, you'd want an EL84 amp for the classic U2 stuff. But the RSA31 just sounded too woolly. The RSA23 would be my go to if I wanted to play U2 using D13's. It's also based on a Hiwatt, which U2 used more than is known. Beautiful Day was a Hiwatt.

I like the sound of the black pedal better. To my blown out ears it seemed like it retained more of roundness of the clean tone and that clean tone was freaking amazing... Beautiful playing by the way.
@Passenger958 ай бұрын
Thank you. I agree, the Tim retained the tone much better. I think the 18 volts helps a bit with that. I was very surprised how much I disliked the Klon this time around, and it was promptly sold. And clean tone probably has a lot to do with the 80's G&L. To my dying days, I will recommend these guitars to everyone. To my ears they are the culmination of Leo Fender's lifelong work.
