Delicious chowder with my own twist! I followed the recipe with the exception of putting the bacon in the chowder rather than use it as garnish, 1.5c of 1/2&1/2, 2c of heavy whipping cream, sweet whole corn kernels drained and rinsed rather than cream style, used sea salt, complete seasoning, cayenne pepper, and a little black pepper ( seasoned the meat when I pulled it out to shred it. This will be a family favorite ❤️

How many pounds of roast? I am not a good cook but I try and I need to know "everything".

What's the point of using a slow cooker when you're 1) using a fry pan to sear the meat and 2) using the broiler after cooking, to brown the meat further? You could simply use the pan OR the broiler to cook the meat in the first place, and do it in a lot less time than 4 hours. Your recipe defeats the very purpose of using a slow cooker, which offers a "dump and go" freedom without having to stand in front of a hot stove or deal with a hot oven. This is a time-wasting recipe...sorry.

I don't add the veggies until 2 hrs to go otherwise they get mushy

The meat your using has no fat. It's better with some fat for flavor.

I made this yesterday w/ a few substitutes bc I didn't have apple sauce ... I used a spoonful of brown sugar and the seasoning on the roast was the spice mix used by Texas Roadhouse and I thickened the gravy w/ slurry at the end.... this was by far the most DELISH pot roast I've ever tasted!
