As for why people didn't automatically sing along : it was not a matter of liking the song, this was woodstock... Pretty much everybody was stoned, hence the delay in the reaction time.... 😅

Robbie is our boy. We’ve seen him from a teenager, no through so many troubles and he’s still here. And so loved. Glad you found him. 💙

When his time comes they will have to video it because he will have musicians from country, gospel, folk, R&B, rap, metal, and other types. He influenced so many different people. I’ve been to one of his shows his band has to know his music from the50’s to now, because he’ll just keep playing into the next song.

You need to listen to Mom's Mabley sing this. She passed in 1975 at 88. She was a great comedian bur her country meant a lot to her. I've always loved & admired this sweet lady.

New? This song was made in 1968. Sly and the Family Stone are important in music history for more than one reason. First, they had black, white, male and female members. You see this song is about UNITY. Secondly, they were one of the first goups to introduce FUNK to popular music. Sly's influence is seen in many artists, Earth Wind & Fire and Prince to name two.
